From: VincentLauw | #047 That I don't like (strongly dislike even) onions chopped and put in food?
How is that such a hard thing to grasp
Oh I see, you were complaining about how these topics ignore an argument that in this case hadn't even been made yet. OK then.
Never really perceived them as having a particularly offensive texture. Not too different from lettuce in salad, and it doesn't ruin spaghetti sauce for me just like meat doesn't ruin it.
And texture is something that I AM picky about. Water chestnuts in noodles and peanuts in chocolate are things I can't stand.
TC is preaching the gospel. It is so terrible that places will put in onions in your food without your request, their taste is foul and the texture is even worse.
Onions are terrible. They taste bad, smell bad, people put them in everything, and cutting one can make me tear up like crazy from a quarter mile away. I'm known for being whatever you want to call the opposite of a vegetarian, but I especially have a thing against onions. Other veggies just make me gag, but onions I overtly hate.

I have vastly different opinions of onions depending on context. Grilled or sauteed I almost always enjoy. Onion powder, eh sure I guess. Hate them in salads, though, and usually not a big fan raw in sandwiches.

From: CycloRaptor | #022 There is only one thing worse than onions, and that is the pickle. How those two became burger staples I will never understand.
I love onions on burgers, but I am so with you on Pickle. I refuse to eat anything with pickles. It is gross and ruins everything. And you can't even just take it off because it leaves a strong aftertaste.
*high fives*
Pickles are the worst, just being in the presence of pickles makes me nauseous.

Bah... forget it, i'm not creative enough to think of a clever sig, I'll just write this.
I really like the flavor of onion. It's the texture that kills me. If I'm very aware that I'm eating onion then there is too much in whatever I'm eating. Oddly, I love red onion in my salads, but if there is raw white onion on my burger I will peel it right off.
Onion flavor is good. I am not a fan of most vegetable textures in other foods. If I'm eating, say, a salad, then I'm good to go with any vegetable textures, but I can't stand crunchy vegetables in my burgers, pasta, etc.
