I'm on season 5, episode 9 now (so 1 episode left)

Aside from Mcnulty and Omar shennanigans, this was the worst season by far. Every scene with Omar was like magic. It was kind of aggravating to see the best character on the show be killed by one of the worst.

Oh and if I had to say, I think season 3 or 4 is my favorite. Omar definitely has the best scenes though, which mostly happen in season 5. Omar is like the Zapp Brannigan of The Wire.

but seriously, everyone was bummed out with how Omar died (including me) but it's consistent with the overall narrative and is actually very fitting especially when you get to the very end

Doesn't change the fact that the show has been boring since he died.

Or I should say, the season has been boring overall.

The show is supposed to be about stuff that actually happens, and realistic characters, and having deeper meanings. As soon as some kid sees Omar in a crutch, his reputation no longer mattered. I get all that.

This season was just boring.

Oh and that said, season 4 was good. Season 5 had too much reporter stuff and none of those characters were really interesting at all.

yeah I think S5 is the weakest season. it's still gdlk because of the Marlo stuff but the newpaper thing isn't interesting and Gus is a self-insert character
