Love the first game, in love with the second game, but DKC3 is no where near as good (Though still alright!). Just about every level is a gimmick, and some of those are just plain bad. (Lightning Lookout, anyone?). Also, Diddy >>>>>>>> Kiddy.

Disappointing perhaps, but I wouldn't call DKC3 a "depressing" follow up. It's still a solid game, it just pales in comparison to 2.


I'd personally say Sonic Heroes. It just ruined almost everything, especially the character Shadow the Hedgehog(you can't tell me he'd be anywhere near as hated if he was only in Adventure 2).


Music still rocks, as per Sonic game standards.

Also I liked PiT more than SSS, probably because it had so much less Fawful.

I'm not sure there's a single character in all of videogaming I hate more than Fawful.

If anything I saw my friend play the Arcade Kollection and all three games looked like steaming piles of crap.
How it was in competition with Street Fighter I will not understand.

It's not even like Mario vs. Sonic. Mario is far and away the clear winner, but Sonic is still good.

if you were talking about all three SF3 games including 3s, that's just indefensible. if 3s depresses you, you must hate joy.

if you're talking about SF3 NG specifically, eh it's kind of underwhelming but is probably still better than whichever Alpha came before it.

but the only way you can call SF3 "a depressing follow up to an amazing game" is if you skip the Alpha series entirely and call vanilla SF3 a sequel to like ST or something. and even then it's hyperbole because vanilla SF3 still isn't a bad game.

also on that other thing, I think UMK3 is reasonably better than MK2. MK3 who knows, I didn't play it.
