The link that was posted earlier says about 75% of adults need either glasses or contacts. In this poll, it's only about 60% who use either glasses or contacts.

It's a first world problem thing, honestly. Wearing corrective lenses makes your vision worse over time. People who have slightly less than 20/20 vision go and get glasses for situational use, and it's all down hill from there.

I've got 20/20 vision (or near enough), btw.

I didn't get a full eye test that told me if I was 20/20 or not, but the last time I had to do the eye chart at the DMV I could read the whole thing. I used to need glasses to see things that were far away, but as you get older you go the other way, having trouble seeing things up close. And right now I'm in that perfect spot where my new vision problems have corrected my old vision problems but haven't gotten bad themselves yet.

20/20 here

I've got 15/20 vision (or 20/15 I forget), that's better then "20/20" in one eye and "20/20" in the other. I do have a few floaters (that may be the actual right word for them too but I'm not sure) that I can see if I really pay attention though, but that's not counted in that.

No glasses or contacts for me, either. Never had any eye problems EXCEPT for the last time I was on steroids (not the athlete kind), it affected my vision a lot but once I got off them everything was better again.

and you shouldn't be too surprised about these numbers.

Yes, they're skewed but I also know A LOT of people IRL that don't wear either but need them because their eyesight is not that good, they just don't wanna go through the hassle or something I guess.

In my case, it was really out of necessity. I didn't get glasses until I was 16. I had no clue my vision was as terrible as it was. I didn't pay attention at school because I couldn't see what was going on.

And so when i was 16, my parents decided to use their work health insurence to get me a vision test. Turns out I have 20/200 vision due to astigmatism. I can't even read this computer screen if I take off my glasses.

Actually no sorry you're right you do have worse vision, I just looked it up. What I have is 15/20 vision in one eye (better then 20/20) and 20/20 in the other. This somewhat explains it but you have to read all the posts, also, it's possible to have different ratios in each eye, but it doesn't explain that, you can google to find that people with bad vision can have have different ratios in each though to see that that part works like that...

I've never had to wear glasses of any sort and the last time I got that checked was around 5 years ago or so, when I was around 22.

Then again this site is mostly virgins so maybe I shouldn't be surprised!

Not that you can't look good in glasses, but it's an automatic negative in first impressions when it comes to attraction.

Not for me, I like them girls with glass, I mean they don't have to have glasses depending on some other things, but I definitely like it. I put this together awhile ago, but it probably makes sense based on how I'm specced lol.

Hopefully it'll stay that way because no man in my family ever need glasses except for reading past the age of 50, and that's only a minority of them, my grandfathers still don't wear glasses.
