well as of last years E3 that's what it was, but that sounds like that's what one of the major changes is that it can do both resistive and capacitive

Resistive - Typically single touch, can be pressed by generally anything
Capacitive - Can do multitouch, needs some form of electrical signals (Such as a finger)

The patent just says it can have either resistive or capacitive, when all we have known until now is that it was gonna be resistive.
