Just out of curiosity, is this game generally considered one of the easiest entries in the series? Because I'm far from the world's premier 2D Sonic player as far as skill is concerned and I think I only died twice.

Good game, by the way, but I still prefer 2 and 3&K by a pretty big margin.

I bought Sonic CD, but I never bothered to play it. I just got busy, was all, and forgot about it.

Well, apparently it's really, really easy.

It's easy just going straight through the levels, but you get the bad ending that way. Getting time stones or the Metal Sonic Holograms and Evil Burgers for the good ending is much harder.

That's good to hear. I did manage to get all but one of the Time Stones (that was kind of a cool special stage concept, by the way) but only a couple of the Metal Sonic Holograms. I had a real b**** of a time figuring out the Past/Present/Future system for the first half of the game.

I wish it had more stages. Maybe two more acts!

That works. The remake was really good. A dozen times better than the Gems Collection version.

For the record I played through with the Japanese OST first. I'll check out the other one sometime soon I guess.

JP OST is much better. There's only a handful of US tracks I really like since most of them don't really fit.

You could always try it with Tails.

Japanese soundtrack is more bubbly and energetic, and the US one is more ambient.

They're both good in their own ways.

I prefer the US version of Stardust Speedway. JP version doesn't fit the Metal Sonic race well.

I had US Stardust Speedway for that fight in Generations, but then I switched it out for Sonic Boom.
