I don't really agree with that write-up. Jack wouldn't do very well without me here (contest 3 trading was prohibited so that is probably his natural strength in this).
Without trading I would support him much more, because then I can only save my favorites so I absolutely would come around saving him... Now I had to trade a lot for Iago, Darkwing and Archimedes so I had no free saves for other characters I really like... Without trading those three would also have been out quite quickly, so Sparrow would become top tier quite soon :-P
mnkboy907 posted... Oh, was IV the first time trading was allowed in this contest?
I think it was allowed in 1 too, but that there were a lot of discussions so Brett decided not to do it anymore. But I'm only around since the second or third contest...

True, but that's the story for the majority of this year's top twenty. Just look at all of the ones eliminated thus far, and half of the ones still left. Never done nearly this well before. I know Xuxon supported Jack, and several others did it casually. Heck, had I not been saving Frollo for Gen, Jack probably would've been in that spot (and would've saved him this round had I not used up a next-round save in an attempt to save Mufasa). Plus, compare him to the other characters with only one strong supporter. How much farther did Jack get than them? I think Jack's got more support than you're giving him credit for :). Just trying to look on the bright side of things.
btw charon, is the fourth Pirates movie any good? i only really liked the first one out of the first three, and the reviews being even lower than 2 and 3 don't exactly excite me for it <_<

It's a Pirates film. It lacks the story from Will and Elizabeth, but some people weren't fans of that. Blackbeard isn't the villain Barbossa or Davy Jones were (in my opinion) but it's still a pretty solid outing. It has all the charm from Jack and Barbossa you come to expect.
Pokewars posted... What stuff transpired in the first couple of contests?
There were some loose rallying rules in the first one, so some of Ermine's friends helped him with Meeko and Remy. I don't think he did anything illegal though, as the contest was still in its infancy. There were just some sketchy moments and lots of drama surrounding Ermine. Although I did manage to get Tink to 8th which was cool.
All you need to know about the second contest is that i went on vacation and Belle, Frollo and Tink all went out back-to-back-to-back. And them some duck won again. It was bad.
Contest III was massive and didn't allow trading if I remember right. Also I think this was the one Brett didn't participate in. Also Mulan cheater alt drama.

The Will/Elizabeth story was fine in the first movie, but after that, eh. Sounds like more focus on Jack which could only be a good thing.
Well I thought it was bad. I like Donald, and he's probably the most deserving winner we've ever had. That said, Scrooge had just won the previous contest and I didn't want to see another classic win. I generally aim to purge every Disney contest of classics and any other character without an appearance in the official Disney canon.
Well yeah, there's much more obvious attempts to showcase Jack as the true main character (even if he's generally regarded as that, his screentime is split in the first 3 films). Of course he's entangled in his own romantic subplot as a result, and I'm sure fan opinion on Angelica will be split but I quite enjoyed it.
My biggest complaint is against Blackbeard. While he's not bad by any means, I feel like he may not have been given enough screentime and just didn't come across in the same way to me as Barbossa and Davy Jones did. Other than that, the film's very solid.

/me scratches possible support from Doc for Darkwing... Crappels!
Alright, sounds like 4 is consistently considered second-best. That's better than I was expecting, even DMC level would probably be worth watching. Thanks for the opinions.
junk_funk posted... Incorrect, Doc. If you recall, I explained my strategy about 25 rounds ago.
Surprisingly, I've never seen Fox and the Hound.
Oh, that's right. I had no idea you hadn't seen the Fox and the Hound though, lol. You've been trading so much for Tod whenever you have a spare save that I totally forgot your strategy.
Ya, Tod's not at the bottom though. I've seen tidbits and clips of the movie. Tod is also a fairly cute mischievous fox, which helps. Much better than Dug, who simply never impressed me.
