Day 5 results:

In the day's tiebreaker, Klum defeats Portman 6-5 and Germany (2-1) claims the win over Israel.

England (2-0-1) vs. South Africa
Japan vs. Romania (2-0-1)

Kayleigh Pearson - 8
Candice Swanepoel - 4

Keeley Hazell - 6
Charlize Theron - 6

Louise Cliffe - 8
Candice Hillebrand - 4

Ameri Ichinose - 6
Madalina Ghenea - 6

Tsubasa Amami - 5
Andreea Mantea - 7

Miri Hanai - 4

For the second match in a row, Hazell is the weak link for England but her teammates double their opponents to put the country at 2-0. Ameri Ichinose and Madalina Ghenea duke it out but Tsubasa Amami drops another close one and Hanai can't compete with Menghia, giving Romania the win.

Day 7 gets extra time because I was partying all day yesterday:

Colombia (2-1) vs. Poland
Czech Republic (2-0-1) vs. Philippines

Mariana Davalos - 9
Iga Wyrwal - 3

Lina Posada - 9
Inez Lajblich - 3

Natalia Velez - 5
Sandra Brec - 7

Petra Nemcova - 8
Ehra Madrigal - 4

Denise Milani - 9
Katrina Halili - 3

Veronika Zemanova - 6
Christine Reyes - 6

Colombia's top two do the leg work again while Velez drops a close match to Sandra Brec of Poland. Both teams are very attractive so I was hoping for closer results. Same story with Czech Republic, who rolls over the Philippines save the last match.

After the current match we are into the playoffs! USA and Sweden are battling for first in their division, but the loser is second place and still advances. Here's a recap of the other three divisions:

- A -
England (4-0)
Mexico (3-1)
Romania (2-2)
South Africa (1-3)
Japan (0-4)

England rampages through the first division. Cliffe pretty much doubled the competition while Pearson did likewise except a tie against Ghenea of Romania. Keeley's matches were much closer; she lost twice, tied once, and only one once, by a single vote against Tsubasa Amami of Japan. Mexico takes second in the division thanks to the efforts of the top seeds, Ninel Conde and Sugey Abrego.

- B -
Canada (4-0)
Australia (3-1)
Brazil (2-2)
Argentina (1-3)
Russia (0-4)

Canada takes first place in B. Campo and Cuthbert won all four matches. Conversely, Vandervoort piggybacked along, losing three times, only winning against Alessandra Ambrosio of Brazil. Australia advances too, mostly due to Emily Scott, but also from a number of close matches involving Nicky Whelan and Miranda Kerr.

- C -
Colombia (4-0)
Poland (3-1)
Czech Republic (2-2)
The Philippines (1-3)
Italy (0-4)

Colombia looks pretty strong in division C, winning ten out of twelve matchups. Like Canada, the top two seeds went 4-0. Poland also looks formidable, except against Colombia.
