Well, that is how that whole thing got started. Obviously it's pretty stupid to bring that up these days, but in case anyone here was unaware, there's a little trivia factoid.
*sneeze, sneeze, nose blow, obviously feeling pretty sick* "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD BLESS YOU" /sarcastic "uhh thanks" "OH HAHA isn't it stupid to say that????"

There is a degree of historical truth to this claim.
Particularly, when the mercantile middle class was formed in Europe, and they cared more about enjoying life and making money than they did about doing what the catholic church told them.
Granted, they weren't necessarily "atheists" per-se (they probably had been baptized) they just lived more secular lives.
Nowadays I'd say the majority of christians don't care so much about, say, not having sex before marriage, so there's no real division between most christians and the typical atheist.

You're messing with me! You're messing with me, aren't you!? You're making fun of me, aren't you!? Aren't you!? You definitely are! I'll murder you!

"Enjoying life" and making money =/= valuing life. There's no "degree of historical truth" to anything. It wasn't true then and it isn't true now.
