-Whoa! Really expected more from Final Grades here.
(3)Firefly, "Out of Gas" - 20 (55.56%) > (2)Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Once More, With Feeling" - 16 (44.44%)
-This is one of the few instances where the episode favored by Broadcast TV actually ended up losing. Board 8's Firefly support was just too much to overcome.

-Born Free did well on PotD, Board 8 and Broadcast TV, but the Cable board voters laughed their asses off at the idea of a Dexter upset. They came out in record numbers to support Everyone's Waiting, and it won the board 11-0.
-24 did a little better than I expected here, really - it even won CE! The votals were excellent as well.
BOARD-BY-BOARD BREAKDOWN:
Board 8 - Chose Born Free and The Constant Poll of the Day - Chose Born Free and The Constant Current Events - Chose Everyone's Waiting and Day 3: 6:00 A.M.-7:00 A.M. -I don't think Through the Looking Glass is guaranteed to win any more. This is impressive, to say the least.
(2)The Simpsons, "You Only Move Twice" - 28 (50.91%) > (6)Seinfeld, "The Soup Nazi" - 27 (49.09%)
-This came very close to going the other way, but some last-minute votes from the Cable board pushed YOMT to victory. Crazy match, though - Round Two has been pretty damn good!

-Though GOB and Michael managed to do really well in the sitcom contest, BTVEE didn't go so well for AD. Pier Pressure was the only episode to make it to R2, and it fell here.
(7)Seinfeld, "The Opposite" - 24 (53.33%) > (3)The Simpsons, "Marge vs. The Monorail" - 21 (46.67%)
-The Simpsons may have won against Seinfeld in Day 21, but the tables were turned here. I'm getting a "Mario vs. Crono" vibe from this!

(1)Community, "Remedial Chaos Theory" - 37 (77.08%) > (4)Parks and Recreation, "The Fight" - 11 (22.92%)
-This is SFF on a Mario vs. Donkey Kong level - Good Grief would have done much better. Still though, it was nice to see a P&R episode win a match, so I can't complain.
Board 8 - Chose Remedial Chaos Theory and Placebo Effect Poll of the Day - Chose Remedial Chaos Theory and Jurassic Bark Current Events - No votes were cast. WTF guys. >_> Television: Broadcast TV - Chose Remedial Chaos Theory and Placebo Effect Television: Cable and Satellite - Chose Remedial Chaos Theory and Jurassic Bark

I think you may be underestimating how popular RCT is. I actually expect it will beat Modern Warfare if it comes to it.
Not to mention AD and Community share similar numbers of fans. AD could probably beat both in a Best Show contest still ("and I have no problem with that"), but as far as individual episodes go I think its consistent quality (albeit a high consistent quality) works against it here.

I don't mean to downplay RCT, but I do think it has more overlap with P&R than AD. They do air back-to-back, after all. :P
I think Good Grief would have gotten 30% at least, and may have even avoided the doubling. Though that's probably not likely.
-- Hey, you ever coming back? You kidding? I am Queens Boulevard.
(1)Lost, "Through the Looking Glass" - 31 (67.39%) > (2)Mad Men, "The Suitcase" - 15 (32.61%)
-The Suitcase managed to easily crack 30%, win a board, and almost avoid the doubling. I guess that's the best we could have hoped for, really - TTLG is a monster.
-I expected Out of Gas to win. I didn't expect it to win by a whopping seven votes. Board 8 really gave it a boost here.

-I really wasn't sure how this match was gonna turn out, but Everyone's Waiting managed to pull through... despite being a total non-factor on Board 8 and PotD.

-A surprisingly close match for Community! The Simpsons bows out of the contest in very respectable fashion.
(4)Seinfeld, "The Contest" - 16 (59.26%) > (7)Seinfeld, "The Opposite" - 11 (40.74%)
-This was a really funny match. On the two "main" boards (Board 8 and Broadcast TV), The Contest trumped The Opposite with ease. On the other three boards, though, The Opposite got every single vote.

I understand the significance of The Contest in television history. A subject about....treating your body like an amusement park at that time was unheard of. I just find The Opposite to be the funnier episode. And one of the rare times George actually triumphs by going completely against his instinct. Still, Seinfeld episodes are top notch.

I like The Opposite - quite a bit, in fact - but it never seemed like one of those "top tier" Seinfeld episodes to me. My dad loves it, though: it's probably one of his favorite episodes or anything.

(2)Futurama, "The Luck of the Fryrish" - 31 (56.36%) > (1)Scrubs, "My Screw Up" - 24 (43.64%)
-CE had a massive spike in votes today, and most of them were for Fryrish. I'm not sure if it was a rally or not, but hey, rallies aren't against the rules...! (And even if you take CE out of the equation, My Screw Up only wins by one vote anyway.)
-I'd really like to see a match between Placebo Effect and You Only Move Twice now.

CE as a whole never rallies for anything like this. Although we do love us some Futurama.

Haha, I can tell! That was a really amazing turnout there. I was stunned.

Oh man! I just tallied the votes up so far, and I gotta say, this is an incredible pair of matches. Especially Remedial Chaos Theory/The Luck of the Fryrish.
I mean, at first, Fryrish was destroying RCT. Just absolutely kicking its ass. But then RCT had a Master Chief-esque day vote, particularly on Board 8. Incredible stuff. :D

(1)Community, "Remedial Chaos Theory" - 35 (52.24%) > (2)Futurama, "The Luck of the Fryrish" - 32 (47.76%)
-I swear to God, this was one of the best matches in the history of anything. Fryrish got off to a bats*** insane start, and it looked like all hope was lost for RCT. Its day vote, though, was flat-out unreal, and next thing you knew, things were tied up. RCT managed to keep the momentum going during the second night vote, and... well, here we are!
It gets crazier, too. Remedial Chaos Theory only managed to outright win Board 8, but it managed to win it by a whopping eleven votes. And just to make things even more bizarre, the same board chose The Contest over Modern Warfare.

Haha, wow. I was actually about to vote for Modern Warfare before the topic closed when I became distracted by something on tv. When I was done watching I became really confused as to why I clicked on a locked topic instead of the newest one to vote.
Just thought it was worth noting how close it was to there being a tie.
Oh cool. The Contest/Modern Warfare one I wasn't exactly sure on. I love both, but Community already had a representative and had to give it up to Seinfeld instead. All four episodes left I love, and will make great winners.
-- Little town... http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae221/GenesisSaga/3rdPrizeBelle.jpg
-It may have done poorly in the nomination phase, but every Seinfeld episode ended up doing great in this contest. Even in its loss, The Contest managed to win four of the five boards - Board 8, though, adores that Community episode.

I'm very surprised how well Seinfeld did these last two rounds. Good for it, I suppose.

-Though TTLG's main support previously came from Broadcast TV, it was the other way around here: that board was the only one NFA won.
Okay, I've said it before, but even more so now I just do not understand the way the Broadcast Board thinks. Not that I have a problem with Angel support, though.

-Despite getting buried on the Broadcast TV board - which has seemingly fallen out of love with Community - Remedial Chaos Theory did okay here, all things considered. I expected a closer match, but as a Community fan, I'm certainly not ashamed of its performance here. All in all, a solid finale, I think.

Well folks, that concludes the contest! I really appreciate all the support and votes that y'all contributed. I had a great time running the BTVEE.
Now, though, it's time for the afterparty! I'll be doing a rundown of the ten biggest stars of the contest, and the ten biggest bombs. And of course, feel free to let me know which episodes you felt were snubbed, or which matches you felt were the most exciting!
-- Hey, you ever coming back? You kidding? I am Queens Boulevard.
10) Frasier, "Ham Radio." Frasier fans across the site lamented its poor odds against Marge vs. the Monorail, and while it indeed didn't win, it only lost by two votes. As a longtime Frasier fan, I was very satisfied.
9) The Simpsons, "You Only Move Twice." Easily the most successful of the three Simpsons episodes in the bracket. It came awfully close to dispatching Modern Warfare, in a shocking twist.
8) Six Feet Under, "Everyone's Waiting." While the Cable board was generally a non-factor during my Sitcom Character tournament, they almost single-handedly carried this episode to the Elite Eight. Impressive, huh?
7) It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, "The Nightman Cometh." Though The Contest ended up making it to the Final Four, it was actually in danger of losing to Nightman for a while. I really wonder how it would have done, had it received a higher seed - it could have been a dark horse.
6) Futurama, "The Luck of the Fryrish." Current Events supported this episode in a big way, and while Jurassic Bark tanked against Placebo Effect, Fryrish managed to get deep into the bracket.
5) Seinfeld, "The Contest." After its aforementioned rough start against Nightman, it seemed like the division was going to go to Pier Pressure or Marge vs. the Monorail. The Contest ended up gaining a lot of steam, however, and nearly made the finals.
4) Archer, "Placebo Effect." It defeated Jurassic Bark in one of the contest's most unexpected upsets, and it even scored 45% on the Comedy Bracket champ. RAMPAGE!!!
3) Firefly, "Out of Gas." It won its division, and then cracked 40% against Through the Looking Glass. Which had just doubled The Gotdamn SUITCASE.
2) Seinfeld, "The Opposite." It shocked everyone when it managed to crush My Finale. It shocked everyone again when it took out Marge vs. the Monorail, right after The Soup Nazi lost to You Only Move Twice.
1) Angel, "Not Fade Away." C'mon, what else could #1 have been? :P
-- Hey, you ever coming back? You kidding? I am Queens Boulevard.
I'm only gonna do a "top" five here. There weren't too many outright stinkers in this contest.
5) Futurama, "Jurassic Bark." I'm still stoked that Placebo Effect pulled off the upset against it, but... there's no denying that Jurassic Bark flopped there. I'm shocked that Fryrish turned out to be so much stronger.
4) Community, "Paradigms of Human Memory." Given how popular the other two Community episodes were, it's quite odd how this one was so much weaker. It's like comparing Link to Tingle, man.
3) Scrubs, "My Finale." It didn't just get upset by The Opposite - it kind of got its ass kicked, in an Ulti-style blowout.
2) Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Once More, With Feeling." It's insane how poorly this episode did. I couldn't believe my eyes when Company Man almost cracked 40% on it.
1) South Park, "AWESOM-O." It got five votes in its match. Five. Cinco. Good God almighty, that's terrible.
