I think I actually put the controller down and left the room to get something to eat or drink while the "credits" rolled, and when I came back, I was back at the map selection screen wondering what the heck happened.

I wasn't fooled and I was like 6 years old. The credits came up anticlimactically and weren't real credits, I knew something was up.

I don't remember.

But I know I never put the control down as soon as I beat the game like some people.

That was the nutshell version. It went more like this:

*stands up and high fives aunties (they're only 3-5 years older than me) sitting in the same room*

I was mostly too busy doing all that to actually read the credits, but I caught the tail end of them and thought they looked kind of weird. I turned to talk to one of my aunties about it for a second only for another to point at the screen in shock and excitement- I had the controller back in my hands before that, but I was still all

"OH CRAP!"

was like "wait, aren't these the characters"
