alright, found the douchebag teacher in Oputa. I didn't know you had to refuse his offer to listen to music to learn music >_>

taught it to ROLF, I recall someone saying to teach it to a guy and Rudo has no magic

then I went to Piata and I found some tower thats also a dungeon, even though it gives no indication its different than any other tower I've seen >__>

the thing is, the dungeon itself isn't as bad as the climate place

but the baddies are alot tougher. I can only survive like 10 battles or so because they hit really hard, as opposed to the, like, 30 of the climate place cause they keep whittling my health down

I dunno of I have to do them in any order or if any of them are harder than the others

alright, finished the green dam

this place was hard, I was starting to think I should skip it and go to another one, the baddies here were tough

I found a new area in the Green Dam and then ROLF and Rudo died in the next battle. So the ladies treaded on without them and sure enough, the new area led to the Keycard thing

oh, and I have a coupe of weird items and I don't know what they do. Aegis, Truth Sivs, and an Amber Robe

Amber robe is some kind of equipment, I think only one or two people can equip it. Aegis as well. Pretty sure they can both be used as items to cast a spell as well. (oh hey I checked Hugh can equip both, Kain can Aegis, and both can be used to cast gires)

And Truth Slvs (sleeves) are another armor that can also cast gires, these ones are for Shir.

I was hoping that I sequenced broke the game and Green Dam was supposed to be the last one (since the baddies were so difficult)

but as I've entered Blue Dam, I'm fighting the same, hard ass enemies

but I'm not really imprisoned as I can still walk around freely

Well there were three planets in the Algol system, Palma, Motavia, and Dezolis. Motavia was too hot, Dezolis was too cold, but Palma was just right for humans. Between PS1 and 2 the Palmans invented the mother brain system and terraformed Motavia from a desert into a mild climate like Palma and colonized it. Dezolis was too cold and barren to attempt to colonize, so that's why they think whoever tampered with Mother Brain is in hiding there.

The jawa guys are the native Motavians and the green guys are the native Dezolians.

The space pirate guy is the descendant of Alis, the heroine of PS1.

The goal of the next portion of the game is to find the hidden Esper Mansion to meet Noah/Lutz, one of Alis' companions from the first game, and visit the four shrines to get the eight sacred weapons/armor for the final battle.

the native Dezolians don't like humans so they don't speak Palman and some of them are liars, but I don't think it affects shops or cloning areas or whatever. Don't remember how you get the translator for their language. I think you just have to go to one of the friendlier villages but let me go check.

Ok you just need to get the magic hat ("mogic") lying around in the first village and have it equipped on someone while talking with them.

Uh it sounds like it's in a chest, and there's more than one opportunity to get one. Like in the first town, and in one of the connecting dungeons between areas. If you can't find it in town then I think starting from there you

CTRL+V

Take the corridor to the north and follow it until you reach an
east/west split. Go west, and down the chute that you come to. Walk
west a short ways, and the path will split off at a 4-way intersection.
Go north for a chest containing a Magic Cap, then go back, and go south
and down the next chute. Walk north into a room with a mother-lode
of six treasure chests! Only three of them contain items... they are
another Magic Cap, the Mogic Cap and 5,600 Meseta.

*NOTE* As I said before, wearing a "Mogic Cap" is the only way to
communicate with the people of Dezo, and only Rolf can equip it. The
Magic Cap also allows you to speak with the cats that are wandering around
in Skure, but they will usually be "hostile" towards you. There are also
fake Caps called "Magic Caps" floating around. Though they have the same
effect as the Mogic Cap, while wearing the Magic Cap the cats will give
you information rather than being "hostile", but all services in Dezo will
cost twice as much (this means resting, teleporting, items, equipment...
everything), and all the Dezolians will tell you lies. The only thing
it's good for is talking to the animals. -_-

well then maybe the FAQ author was talking about the dungeon near Skure, which means that you should follow those directions into the nearby connecting dungeon I guess.

it's been years since I played.

(edit: wait what is the name of the town? It says that it's in Skure which I thought was the town, but maybe it's just the name of the area you land. It's apparently in the tunnel to the town of Aukba)

okay

I found the problem

The magic hat is in the f***ing landing zone dungeon when you first arrive in Dezo

you kept calling it a town. and thats where everything got messed up

and not only that, as I was exploring the Landing zone dungeon, I found out theres multiple exits that lead into the other towns. So ME saying "First town" was inaccurate as well, cause it could be any of them

but either way, I found the Magic AND the Mogic hats (whats the difference?) and I'll be heading out now

and keep in mind, unless I go to a teleport pad, I have no idea what the town names are. that is, the game isn't telling me. Apparently the Landing zone dungeon is Skure.

Yeah sorry as I said it's been years since I played so I had no idea on the names were and my saves are in the final dungeon so I couldn't check either.

Already posted the difference. Both let you talk to Dezolians, but they're hostile/lie to you if you wear the Magic Cap instead of the Mogic Cap.

I remember I had the paths out of that landing area all memorized after a point. So much space ship to home, do whatever there, then fly back and navigate the landing area again, then enter a town and wear a hat just so I can buy some items or whatever, then put on another hat so I can use it as armor and then try a dungeon again

The prism lets you find the four dungeons you need to enter in this world. There's one near the far north city, I think that's supposed to be the first one you do.

Also heaven help you when you get to Ikuto.

I could have sworn that you could at least teleport between towns. Like, casting the escape spell would take you back to the landing area, but then at the very least if not the spell you could warp with a telepipe or something.

Also I'm going back and finishing PS3 because of this topic. I was looking at a guide to figure out where I left off, tried following along until I realized that I had already been to the place I was trying to reach for the past half hour or so. Then I thought that I needed to get the aqua parts so I had to retrace my steps to the town I had last saved in, then went to a dungeon to get the aqua parts only to realize that I had already got them from that dungeon (because there were aqua and sub parts, and I already had both but didn't notice that I had the aqua parts because they were in another character's inventory and the people guarding the sub parts incorrectly call them the "aqua parts" anyway). orz

At least I did make some progress eventually.
