Anybody happen to check it out yet? I'm busy today but this game looks all kinds of off-the-wall awesome. If you're not in the know, it's basically a crazy God Hand-esque sort of beat em up game, with a crapton of characters including returning characters from other Platinum games, like Jack from Madworld, Bayonetta, and supposedly Sam Gideon from Vanquish.

so far through 2 levels of tutorials I got down

X - Jump
Square - Light Attack
Triangle - Heavy Attack
Circle - Grab/Throw
L1 - Lock-on
L2 - Chainsaw (or whatever your character's meter attack is. Jack's is the chainsaw)

Just like in MadWorld you can pick up objects in the environment and swing them around and throw them and whatnot


basically what I'm getting at here is this game is a lot like MadWorld

R2 is block
R2 + X is roll

Hitting both attack buttons at the same time does an AoE attack

you can push in both sticks at the same time to activate a hyper mode. You can do tons of punches quickly and if you clash with an enemy at the same time you do a QTE sequence while your guys are punching eachther fist of the north star style

Powerups you find can be equipped with Left and Right on the D-Pad. In the tutorial they give you a shield and a rocket launcher. The shield is used automatically. The Rocket launcher you have to aim with L2 then fire with R2

So story mode you can pick the Black Side or White Side.

Black Side was Jack so I picked him.

Got some story cutscenes between him an The Baron from MadWorld. Then you fought him in a 1 on 1 fight. When he got close to dying an airplane suddenly was shown about to crash into where you were fighting and a time limit popped up. I assume you had to defeat him before the time limit ran out so I did and there were more story cutscenes after that.

I'll try out White Side and the Network later tonight during Konami's conference. Gotta watch GTTV now.

Okay White Side you play as a dude named Leo. He's a lot quick and mainly uses kicks as his primary attack. For him you play a more typical stage beating up mobs of goons and fulfilling side missions while you make you way towards the main mission. At the end there's another boss fight and dialogue


Network mode is 4 on 4 battles. 6 characters are selectable in this demo and its the first team to 20 kills. If enough people get this we should totally set up matches against eachother because I was just playing random japanese

So does it basically play similar to MadWorld? You said "oh if it does that would be cool" and then dropped it >_> MadWorld was fun to me but felt a little clunky.
