I think the biggest change is I'm just adding self-defense as a valid reason for not being guilty(rules had to be tweaked a bit to allow for this) and a few other small things. No big changes to the formula aside from tightening up the rules a bit.
There's a bunch of small changes but the formula is still the same.
I'm taking requests for specific rule changes though.
Does the whole "If you vote wrong three times, you're gone" thing still happen? Because I think that hurt the game because it was less about achieving victory through murder and more about making sure people voted wrong three times.

How long did the last game run for? I'd love to play but I'm getting surgery in two weeks and while I'll have internet in the hospital, I'll probably be pretty out of it and don't know how coherent I will be in message board posting.
From: masterplum | #005 I died before anyone told me how to play last game.
It sucked Your death was still the funniest though!

It's still not "if you get it wrong you are automatically dead" but the system is much less exploitable now. Worked quite a bit to get it working.

I...actually don't remember how long it ran for, but it was definitely more than two weeks. You don't need to be too coherent to play though, especially considering how some people were acting last game.
From: PrivateBiscuit1 | #009 How is the character thing going to work this time? Is it all randomized or do you get to pick or what? People will get 3 different roles sent by pm to them, all randomly selected. People will then be able to choose one of those 3 roles to use. I think the random factor adds quite a bit to the game, but a bit of choice isn't bad either, so...yeah.
From: SemiFinal vs Belarus | #010 Argh. Saw this and the post count and thought I'd made it in time for sign-ups. >_< Hey, you technically did! No sign-ups started yet.
Good times. I already gave you a suggestion way back Haguile, but in case you forgot:
Make sure that each player has all the necessary information that they need for their role, regardless if you think some stuff is common knowledge or not. Example would be telling someone with cyanide that it has a faint almond smell.

Well yes, but now I could still miss the sign-up topic. --

Now how many roles do you have? 56 as of now, but I'll trim it down a bit to remove the most boring roles.

oh god this sounds like it's going to be a mess. a glorious, awesome mess. It's balance. I took out the lion(sorta), had to add something else for the misdirection!
Also for the record, maria, KP and Solfadore are auto-in the next game if they choose to play because they won the last game so they have V.I.P spots. They'll also have a list of 5 roles to choose from as opposed to 3.
From: saveus_Maria | #020 yeah if I was in this game the first thing I would do is try and kill someone and make it look like self defense. I'm absolutely confident it will be a mess. But to be honest the self-defense bit has a ton of rules so it would probably take a genius to murder somebody and get away with self defense.
1) There's absolutely no way I can win again because after the stunt I pulled last time nobody will trust me 2) I'm going to be busy with school anyways
Biscuit can have my spot~

You could just be a regular detective that doesn't kill! Also I'm re-reading the last trial and it's still as hilarious as it was back then. If you are going to be busy with school though, then yeah that's too bad. Try to follow the game and make fun of everybody when they die at least!
Also if you wish to donate your VIP spot to Biscuit, that's acceptable.
this isn't like Mafia where people need to guess if I'm good or evil. this is a game where everyone is out to kill everyone else, and now every player in the game is very aware of my potential. in the first game I had a massive advantage of having both a role that made me seem very 'good' and nobody knew just how malicious I actually was, such as the fact that I had a plan to kill someone each night but ultimately held out because I wanted to wait long enough for you guys to start trusting me before I made my move.
that's not going to fly this time. everyone knows I'm an evil mastermind so they'll be expecting any move I make!

And what would be more evil than not making a move this time, only to do it the game after!? And I think that's part of the challenge anyway. Being able to murder when everyone assumes you will be crafty as hell.
But yeah, if you have school that's in the way, I would probably not advise playing.

It's different though. People would be like "...Yeah no way anyone is insane enough to try to kill AGAIN after the s*** from the last game. This time it's probably not him."
From: PrivateBiscuit1 | #030 But yeah, if you have school that's in the way, I would probably not advise playing. Oh yeah, definitely this. Last game was pure hell time wise. If you have something important coming up, it's not a good idea to play it.
also I want in or something I already explained to you what "sorta" means. I took out the culpability rule that made no sense. If the animal kills, the tamer is considered the culprit now.
yeah, it might be a fun challenge to try playing despite the fact that I'd be suspect #1 in every single murder. however, time constraints are really going to be the deciding factor. that being said, if I did play again, one thing I'd do different is not make any alliances with people as I did last time. I think I weakened my position by giving away some of my killing strategies to other players, and there were times when I could have benefitted by "flipping" on them but was unable to because they had dirt on me. in the end I was lucky that Solfadore was actually loyal to me otherwise he could have easily buried me at any point, although it was in his best interest for me and him to survive rather than him and 6 other people. but yeah.

my night 1 plan was to kill you actually, specifically because you had a lion >__>

Yes, but would it have actually worked without you getting killed? <_< Your lion was dancing with Sceptile and SSBM at the time, so if he had found you...yes it would!
From: SSBM_Guy | #047 I could definitely co-host for this. I kind of want to take a backseat, especially since a bunch of people seemed to be interested in the last game.
Also, maria should act like Togami and just dick around with everyone the entire game. If you are up for co-hosting, that's great. What I'd need you to do is to organize everybody's actions after they post and then send it to me. Like when they post their actions as...
00:00 Do this
01:00 Do that
You'd have to group everybody's actions together and send them to me. Could you do that? If you can confirm that, then I can open sign-ups in a day or two.
Whelp if I get in I'll have to do more sluething and less dying.
As for last minute requests, making it so that non-culprits don't have every reason to make murders harder to solve instead of easier would be cool, but I really don't see how that can coexist with the strike system.
