red is great. my favourite King Crimson studio lp (the great deceiver, all four discs of it, is their best work)

I don't know what's worse: that three of the best rock albums ever fall back-to-back-to-back in the slums of the 100s, or that they're behind The Doors

third is great. it's their second best record and it's listed #2 on this list, so b8 did well there

is a fine, cheesy hard rock record, and definitely their best

Well, you're not really into punk, so it makes sense, but TVU is nothing like TVU&N. It's their softest record (although Loaded is poppier) and, I think, their best record.

I wasn't bashing Crack the Sky! Was a reference to when a bunch of B8'ers were hyping that album like crazy and were posting "crack the skye" in half the topics on the board.
60 | Explosions in the Sky | The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place 59 | The New Pornographers | Mass Romantic 58 | Agalloch | The Mantle 57 | Led Zeppelin | IV 56 | Miles Davis | A Kind of Blue 55 | maudlin of the Well | Bath 54 | Queensryche | Operation Mindcrime 53 | The Clash | LondonCalling 52 | Big Boi | Sir Lucious Left Foot 51 | The Cure | Disintegration
EitS album titles entertain me more than EitS albums. B8 gets the top 2 New Porno albums right, but, as good as Sir Lucious Left Foot is, there's no way it's better than all but one Outkast album.
top 50 tomorrow

fame monster is easily her best (and definitely one of the best pop albums in recent memory. sure, it's no girls aloud, but it's hard to argue with bad romance, monster and dance in the dark)

Really surprising to see Black Saint and Sinner Lady not break into double digits, especially when a handful of us had it near the top. And we've got no-name crap like Broken Social Scene and Flo + The Machine up there? FOR SHAME B8
But the list is still stellar compared to most, obviously our selection pool is very tightly knit and overlapping
YFiiP is a fantastic record; no need to group it together with Florence + The Machine. It's just a shame they'll never release anything half as good as that. BSS are just another band from a generation with only one great idea.

I'm assuming there's no more King Crimson to come (because how many people really are into the non-Red/In the Court...stuff? Not enough to realistically expect any of it on this list) in which case that's kind of tragic. Actually those albums being no higher than 80 is tragic regardless.

We clasped our hands, our hands in praise of a conquerors right to tyranny
Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Discipline, and Three of a Perfect Pair all just missed the cut. Another vote and they all would have landed somewhere in the 400s.

I'm not a The Velvet Underground expert, but yeah, I'd say they're protopunk - though I think of them primarily as an experimental rock band. They were mainly active in the '60s, and punk didn't really exist yet then.
