...In more interesting news I hope to have the next five done by Friday, but seeing my track record, I can't exactly promise that.

5. Neotokyo Imbrium User: Ed Bellis Link: Image:
First Impressions: Its a Neotokyo track I actually really like!
Thoughts: Ive said this before, but Neotokyo has a really interesting soundtrack. It isnt one of my personal favorites by any means. That doesnt mean I cant praise it for being unique and having some great ideas. Most tracks would fall around the six to seven range for me on a scale. This one is better than most. The strings are great, and while I could see some people thinking the vocals are annoying, I personally like them. As with most from its soundtrack, its original and creative, while also being pleasant to listen to.
About the Image: Whenever I hear a Neotokyo track, I think of navy blue. It just seems like the right color for the entire soundtrack to me. The white stars are supposed to actually be little bursts of light, as if sparks crackling. Thats what comes to my mind when hearing the vocals here, small pops of energy lighting up the otherwise dismal area. So no, this isnt a night sky, despite you having every reason to believe that. Its more like a faulty electrical device occasionally lighting a dark area, if that makes sense.

4. Instant Brain Challenge to the Past User: JONALEON1 Link: Image:
First Impressions: For such a relaxed track, this is keeping me pretty invested.
Thoughts: The introduction is my favorite portion, along with others that use that lovely sound to full effect. It isnt the only good one, or else it wouldnt have gotten this high. The strings later on add well to it, and a certain section actually makes me feel a bit nostalgic. I think it reminds me of a Final Fantasy VII track in that one section, I just dont know why. The rest definitely doesnt. Either way, I like the atmosphere provided here. It gets faster but never loses the, um, cool factor it has. I highly doubt anyone else will get that description. Thats okay, its me after all. Congrats to JONALEON1 for this track, as it got the highest placing out of all the tracks I had not heard before that were submitted here.
About the Image: As said above, I got sort of a cool image from it. In specific, an ice cavern. The blues and triangles are supposed to show icicles that could, in some abstract way, symbolize the challenge that is being said here, with the past part being a frozen endangered species in an ice wall or something. It could, but it wasnt my intention. My intention was huh this sounds good for an ice level heres an ice level.

First Impressions: I wish the soundtrack had more like this.
Thoughts: Me liking a Shimomura piece? What a shock! For those not in the loop, shes one of my absolute favorites, especially for battle themes. This isnt her best, but it is still really good, namely for the strings. Those strings carry the entire track by themselves. The rest is a bonus. I know Kenri doesnt care for it nearly as much, but Kenri is a big silly person who thinks Nameks Destruction is actually good, so I dont regard his opinions as having much credit!
About the Image: I pictured a fight with a ship on the sea, but due to my spectacularly bad job at sizing things, I really couldnt get people fighting on the deck. So instead you got a sailboat. Which doesnt really look like a sailboat. You can tell its one though, since it has a sail. And is a boat. Making it a sailboat. Its very symbolic.

2. .hack//G.U. Vol 3//Redemption Full Force User: xp1337 Link: Image:
First Impressions: .hack//G.U. music too good.
Thoughts: The battle themes of .hack//G.U. are like catered specifically to my tastes. They have dramatic chanting, bells, and are good music, so thats three for three. Speaking of, howd this qualify with that vocals rule anyway? Oh I made that joke already. Well then. My favorite parts are the ones with vocals, and I love the shift in tone where it becomes quiet near the end, almost holy.
About the Image: Holy indeed. I pictured this playing in a battle in a church with a large, stone angel. Before anyone makes any Dr. Who jokes, no, not that kind of an angel. The squares are pews and a podium before anyone asks. And yes, the angels wings look awful in many ways. This should not be a surprise by this point.

1. Ys: The Oath in Felghana Sealed Time User: xp1337 Link: Image:
First Impressions: The epitome of Ys music.
Thoughts: Hey what a shock, xp got the two top highest spots in my rankings. I wonder if it has anything to do with him knowing what I like? Fact is, Ive loved this track since I first came across it. The strings are fantastic, and theres one section that is really, really, really good. As in, that section on its own would probably get a full point higher. The rest sort of brings it down, though that isnt to say it has bad parts. I do love it for what it is, and that was enough to get it first place here.
About the Image: The image here was a clear one. A hero, rushing up the path to a castle, one where a climactic showdown awaited him. That came to mind at once, so here is my best representation of it. The sky is bright because it feels optimistic, and dark stormy castles are sooo overrated. Even evil overlords need some sunshine.

Mad stats (courtesy as usual of xp, all two remaining readers should thank him). Lowest scores are bestest, highest possible score is 87, lowest possible is 6:
Sorry for the delay once more, and I did want to say thanks to everyone who participated in this. It was pretty fun, even if it involved some truly awful tracks that people should feel ashamed for liking. -_^

Well, I think I could have done well in the rankings had I picked songs I actually liked. Still, I was really just in it for the bad drawings (no offence), so I accomplished that at least :P
I got a shark (Celty insists that it's a plane... IT'S A SPOTTED SHARK I TELL YOU). I am really pleased.
It could be... a plane shark.
