I'm always blown away by people who say they can't eat something when it has a certain thing in it.
I mean there has been food that I was kinda like that with when I was a kid like pickles and olives, but since then I made a consious effort to get to like these things and it really seems silly of me to think that a grown person can be so... closed minded when it comes to new food and new combinations
Why would you go out of your way to acquire a taste for something you don't like? I could understand maybe if it was something healthy but otherwise that just doesn't make any sense to me.
I'll eat pretty much anything. Many singular foods I don't like (such as tomatoes, and avocados, and other things in that food hate topic), but I will eat them in a dish that involves them because they are often critical components (like in a BLT, or in a california roll).

I'll eat pretty much anything. I don't know if maybe I just don't have a very discerning palate or what, but there's not really anything I can think of that I actually think tastes bad.

My own background: I was a horribly picky eater as a kid but now will eat most anything.

Mostly because it's polite. If someone else cooks dinner for you and you refuse to eat it just because it contains X, it comes off as impolite (rightly or wrongly, this is just the reality of the world). I'd say for that reason you owe it to yourself to reach the point where you find most things edible, and the more things you can outright find enjoyable, the better.
In particular, having been there myself? Disliking a large number of things is not fun, and life is much better when someone can put something random in front of you and you know you will probably be able to enjoy it and honestly tell them you enjoyed it.
And of course, if you're one of those people who dislikes "all vegetables" or whatever (you people baffle me) then you really owe it to yourself to find some you like for healthy eating reasons.

Like there are billions of different types of meals on the planet, why would you deny yourself any of them?

There is a huge difference between not wanting t try different foods and not liking them though. I mean if I really want to, I can force myself to eat a dish with onions. I'm going to hate it, and the onions will probably make me forget that I liked any part of that meal to begin with... but I could do it if I truly wanted to. But if the choice is between making something without onions or eating the onions just to look "like an adult" I'm going to go with the onion free option.
I honestly wish I could enjoy more foods. When you have a dish with a bunch of bright peppers and different vegetables it LOOKS damn good with all that color.. but actually eating it is not enjoyable at all.
I'll definitely try new things because it's nearly impossible to know what you will or won't like before trying it, but I don't see any good reason to eat foods I already know will taste bad.

Because there are a billion different types of meals so it's not even a loss if I miss one because I could never eat them all anyway. One must be horrible to ever eat the same meal twice by your logic!

I'm not denying myself something if I don't like it. I'll try anything once but if I don't like it then I don't like it.
