I hear a lot of animosity toward 'mascot' characters from Tales fans, but as an almost-complete Tales newb I'm actually rather enjoying Mieu thus far. >_> The fire thing is... OK, it's sort of juvenile, but dammit, it's awesome.

Also, Luke is around to point out the voice issue. Which is more than can be said for most JRPG characters, who get away scott-free with high-pitched wailing.

Luke's not so bad so far and I'm already seeing signs of change. I'm aware his change throughout the story is drastic. I also hear that the other characters' development lags behind because of it, but eh.

oh gosh Luke is one of the few characters that I've been really pissed off by. Replaying the game is agonizing up to the change part
