Amazon has been preparing for almost a year now with its good sales and now it's July. The month of Steam sales, surely nobody can beat them, right? Wrong.
Or at least, that's what amazon wants to prove. they're getting in the habit of offering steam + non-steam versions of the games (if they aren't steamworks) so if you don't want to use it, you won't have to for a bunch. All this is regurgitated from the cag topic and our badass rep, Tony. Starting from the top:
Current sales: July 1 - July 14
Max Payne 3 - $29.99 through July 4th. Afterwards it'll be $39.99 for the rest of the sale period. Spec Ops: The Line - $24.99. Syndicate - $14.99. Bioshock 1 + 2 - $7.49 X-Comm Complete Pack - $2.99 The Darkness II - $12.49 Rockstar Classics Pack - $14.99 Crusader Kings II - $9.99 Borderlands: GOTY - $7.49 Duke Nukem Forever + both DLC packs - $7.99
2K Strategy Pack - Civ 5: GOTY (note: this doesn't include the recent expansion), Civ 4 Complete, and The Stronghold Collection - $19.99
2K Mega Pack - Both of the above packs, CivCity: Rome, and Mafia II - $39.99
Modern Warfare 3 - $29.99
These are through July 7th:
Pint Sized Paradox Bundle - Crusder Kings II Dynasty Shields, Mongols, Ruler Designer, Songs of Albion, Songs of Faith, and Songs of the Holy Land DLC. Also has Majesty Gold, Warlock: Master of the Arcane, and Majesty 2 Collection - $7.49

Plethora of Paradox Games - Both above packs - $19.99
but these are not the only things. that'd be a small time sale, especially as if you've been following their sales a lot is repeated. it's the upcoming Sega EA, and THQ ones that'll be fun. what's posted here is just what's current.

If you don't own the Bioshock games you may consider the 2K pack there, get Borderlands, both Bioshock games, and Duke while you're at it. Game was patched on pc for 4 weapon single player and it plays leagues better than the console ports.

Not really into the Duke, but yeah, I was thinking about Bioshock. I do own the first for 360, so I kind of want to look into whether or not it'd be worth picking these up for PC.
The answer is, as usual, a resounding probably, it's cheap so do it.

Steam has its assets in cheap games, but many of those aren't retail ones, but in the indies.
Thing is, bundles galore have warped that market, hard. It also can't really offer ea games anymore either. That's the main split really. And it'll be hard to top binary Domain for 10 bucks.
still, steam does love its Bethesda game sales...

a lot of those sales aren't new - the current ones anyway - and are repeated through the year due to results.
ones i'm interested in personally are the Rockstar pack, and... that's it for current to the 14th. because i own the others. Paradox Bundle is kinda interesting but i'm not sure i care about Crusader Kings.
the Sega stuff though, oh yes. THQ i already got Metro and Darksiders a while ago. same for EA, though that's physical copies because best buy was a boss.
Binary Domain for 10's my main. don't know total war enough to say anything on that bundle. but $30? ehh....
Sonic "4" bundle is more interesting at least, as is the Sega pack. but if you don't have alice or bullestorm, well...

....haha. man, that's all kinds of wrong. Tony's pretty much been the amazon guy for the past year on CAG and eventually also went to neogaf too, and he PMs someone over on slickdeals to make sure that stuff gets around.

18. Dragon Age Pack ( Dragon Age Origins Ultimate + Dragon Age 2 ) - $9.99 runs 7/1-7/7
which is really more of a continuation of a week ago, but hey. a lot of the stuff here is what won them winter, though winter also did have that amazing $5 coupon...
some of these prices are gonna be beat by steam. DAO also predates Origin.

Just Cause 2 - Steam Kane and Lynch 2 - Steam Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light - Steam Supreme Commander 2 - Steam Tomb Raider Underworld - Not Steam
also wroth noting: if you aren't sure about a specific pack on the Sega games, read the bold regarding individual games. 50% off after the pack is over.
Sonic CD for 2.50 ain't bad. steam might one up that one though.

Pretty much my reacting too. Amd gpus I hear still have some problems, but nvidia are fine. Think it's a matter of optimization, bad port so it hurt them. Still, my computer is beefy so it'll be interesting to see those so called problems

From what I hear, the Binary Domain PC port wasn't too bad. So long as you download the available patch (came out within the week of release), shouldn't be any problems to it.

I wish that big Sega pack included the genesis sonic games. It would be one of the most amazing deals ever if it did. I'm still thinking about buying it but the lack of sonic 1-3 makes me hesitant.

sega pack there is a ridiculous deal that is well worth 12.50. however...
the individual components will not be at the 78% sale, but 50%. to that end, steam will be better if you're after that as they have done it before. Classics Series 4 is easily the best one of the list (5th, the newest, is 2nd best) and was for under $2 last year.
but if you don't have any of the games OR Renegade OPs OR Sonic CD, jump on it. hell, even if you got 1 of 'em, still think about jumping on it. me? i've got 2. and i don't need any but packs Renegade, 4, and 5 as i'm convinced Sega's holding back for a Sonic collection (CD is good stuff though) and i've got the first 2.

so, first lesson i have with Binary Domain: my god do voice commands SUCK.
second lesson: the AMD issues are heavily overstated. no problems yet. i'm early, but still, not a damn problem thus far. could be a shadows issue, i'm aware that it's a problem some cards have. for that though just turn 'em down and viola. crank the rest up.
