It's times like this when I wish I didn't care so much about sports, and this sport in particular. Wish I could just shut off the part of my brain that makes me invest so much into it.
Going to finish as much of my liquor as I possibly can tonight. I hate everything. Even you.

here's Jukkie. Better say something wildly clever about bandwagoning. Or don't you want to say something about how it's not a real sport? Would that satisfy your inner standup comedian more?

I put a <3 afterwards which meant I was kidding. Calm down man, <3.
Oh, here I thought you were upset that Pittsburgh didn't get Parise and/or Suter despite also trading away Staal to clear up the cap space.
In which case I would've comforted you by saying: at least you didn't give Matt f'ing Carle 5.5 mill a year for 6 years. jesus christ, Stevie Y. You had such promise as the Lightning GM...

Dempsey would be a neat silver lining but nothing is going to fully make up for this. This is betrayal. Cowardly, cowardly betrayal from someone I expected to much better from.

not just losing, not like a free agency thing or whatever.
This is like LBJ times 10.
Think about if LBJ had spent his first few seasons struggling with injury, not living up to any potential and Cleveland stuck with him before he had ONE GOOD SEASON and then demanded a trade because Cleveland weren't up to 'his potential'
That's what this is. This is my heart being ripped out. AGAIN.
SOMETHING SIMILAR JUST HAPPENED LAST SEASON. FAVORITE PLAYER. LEAVING. AGAIN.

speaking as a total neutral for once, this is a straight up dick move from RvP. If he doesn't want a new contract that's cool, but all going public like that does is lower his transfer fee for arsenal.

Gonna suggest RVP had more than one good season, that the last season he had was more than just "good", and that he had a long meeting with Wenger before deciding not to sign a new contract because he didn't like the direction the club was going. It's not like he just wants to go for no reason.
Plus, what was it, two days before that Wenger said he was definitely staying? This is after last summer, when he said if you guys sold Nasri and Fabregas you couldn't be called a big club. Wenger's a fantastic manager, but he's clearly got a problem with man and media management when it comes to transfer deals.
Not like it's gonna stop you getting loads of money for him and still finishing top 4, either. Might stop a serious title challenge, but that was optimistic anyway.

this is why you can't invest too much in favorite players these days, for any sport really, bro
too much free agency and markets and big spending owners in all sports, especially soccer. these guys are gonna flock to where the money is, it's smart
