Having been on the receiving end of that myself, it's no fun. I'm curious how many of mine even got listed to considering how many people are only listening to the first X. Support phase consolidates all the noms in one place, equally. People will still skip plenty of songs, but it's much more convenient to them than scrolling through pages and possibly repeating songs. Aside from just liking to listen to the songs in general, I feel it's only fair to listen to others' songs if I'm hoping for them to listen to mine. I do cynically share your belief that earlier nominations have a better chance than later ones but I think that's also true even in the support system even if its purpose is to help eliminate that. A lot of songs get nominated after all. Listening to 400+ or whatever it tends to be can be a lot to ask for. Also earlier noms having a better chance is totally a thing--like there's hardly even a shred of doubt in my mind about that. I'm not sure when the effect starts to kick in (like top vs. bottom of page 1 probably doesn't make any difference), but I'm almost certain it kicks in at some point. --- I guess DpObliVion gets to be in my sig now.
