No, I mean his win in general. It was always going to be like swatting a fly and "Wow, who cares?" Because Owens is a joke. And then they make him a fly without wings with the distraction to make it more meaningless of a victory.

Yeah I made the same argument on Twitter. The only legitimate winner of this title was Finn Balor and no one who has held it since has a legitimate claim to it.

I don't even care about Owens. Him beating Goldberg just makes Goldberg look bad-- Owens is a ruined commodity at this point. In fact I wish there was no distraction whatsoever cause I hate "HE WAS DISTRACTED BY MUSIC."

Doing that to Braun though I think they lost my Raw viewership again. Him and JeriKO (rip) were the only things I was watching Raw for.

It's been a good 6 months time to hit the bench again.

This, although I'm afraid I saw it coming. Braun destroyed Reigns in practically every encounter prior to Fastlane, so it was almost expected that they'd put Roman over since he was the underdog coming into this.

I don't think they have to try hard to put on a terrible show with Raw. It kind of just happens.

Why couldn't they just have Goldberg murder Owens at the PPV and then have Owens come out and demand his rematch and Foley goes "Yeah, alright."

Then Jericho starts to beat the hell out of Owens backstage before the rematch. Owens is barely able to escape and has to actually leave the arena to get away from a furious Jericho.

Goldberg comes out anyway and says that these people were promised a fight and he's not letting them leave without one. And that he wants someone to come out and be next. Then Brock comes out and they staredown before brawling and maybe Brock barely catches Goldberg with an F5 and exits the ring, but Goldberg gets back up, looking alright, and demands that Brock get back in the ring but Brock is too stunned to.

And then next week Foley doesn't give Owens his rematch because he said he wanted it last week and he ran off on it. And then it gives Stephanie an excuse to yell at him again!

It doesn't need a frankly totally lazy distraction at the PPV to make it work.

Well Reigns vs Braun was just stupid.

Braun is the closest thing they've built to a guy being as mythically badass as Goldberg or Brock. And they have him lose to Reigns like no big deal after he belly flops on the mat. Like, if you're going to have someone beat Braun, make it someone you want to elevate and make it more than a nothing one month feud. Build it up to be something awesome where the guy has to do so much to beat him.

Not just Roman Reigns beating him like any other schlub. I have no idea why they even made this match in the first place knowing it would do no favors for Braun because Roman had to win so he looked good for Undertaker. I just can't understand it.

It was awesome. Secret Season 17 has been really good so far.

You know the one thing I got out of the Rick Rude HoF video, why the heck don't we have midcard divisions where winning the IC Title actually meant something like they did back then?

But I am not even sure if SmackDown does either. Your IC Title has been held by Main Event caliber guys in Dean and Miz. The true midcard to have it is Ziggler.

Because you have:

A) A guy winning it and never defending it (i.e. Roman/Jericho/Dean)

B) A guy winning it where it means something and then they take it away immediately (i.e. Zack Ryder/Dolph Ziggler)

C) Nobody actually talks about it like it's something worth having and special.

D) It doesn't elevate anyone. Literally nobody gets elevated after a title reign because they cannot book and are incapable of making stars.

I'm not gonna fall all over myself defending WWE fans, but I don't think Goldberg to Undertaker is really a good 1-1 comparison. One of them has been gone for over a decade, returned, and won the quote-unquote top title in the company while logging less than two minutes worth of actual ring time. The other has had some of the most well-regarded matches in company history over that same time frame, has never left, and has no designs on the world title.

And I think that second statement is part of why they're booing Goldberg. They're pissed that WWE refuses to build up their actual roster as main event level talent, so they're naturally taking it out on the guy that is in that spot.
