Avatar came out at just the right time when 3d hit it's new stride, it could easily have been another John Carter of Mars had it come out a little later.

Seeing that they're going to be making many sequels, this is the PERFECT time to build up park attractions (since there would be mutual benefit from the old deal; More hype from Disney means more money for the future film creators, and more viewership for the future films means more demand for the Disney attractions / merchandise from the deal). --- Money is overrated... ... It's weird to me that some people seem to have the mindset that if these films weren't to break 1b they would automatically determine them to be failures like they need to surpass the original to be successful and worth anything. --- Are you not....entertained!? ... Disney can have their irrelevant Avatar world, because Universal will have Super Nintendo World and that's all that matters.
