nope. maybe I'll be an LFR hero the month new content comes out and throw $13 at the game every now and then. But unless I decide to find a new raiding guild right now(And its difficult with my schedule), I cant play the game casually.

How were the raids in Legion? I only played for like a month and wasn't geared enough to do the first one when I quit again.

Raids are still fun. Some of the preparation necessary to raid is too grindy, especially for players trying to get into the game.

Then what drove the decision? I'm playing a crappy browser game for years and I'm contemplating quitting, just curious what drives someone to quit a game far more immersive than said browser game.

I'll play a bit of FFXIV, but the time investment isnt as high nor is the time commitment as stringent as a WoW raid. So I've got a great deal of time opening up.

Maybe I'll find a multiplayer game to get good at. Always good at moba's if I just sit and put the time into them.

I quit a few months ago. Legion is a decent expansion, but I don't enjoy how casual friendly the game is. Accomplishing stuff doesn't feel satisfying anymore.

At first it was weird to quit FFXI but after a bit you'll be happier.

When you realize how much you don't need to MMO you feel pretty good.

MOBAs require a huge time investment as well, each match is like 45 minutes. Try an fps, it's way more bang for for your playtime.

Red has played hots where the average match time is only 20 minutes. Way smaller time commitment.

It felt great to give up a game that i was playing for 10+ hours a week. Hope you enjoy your extra free time

I managed to fill WoW time with sports. It was a fairly successful venture.

Crazy, I just got back into the game last Sunday after taking 8 years off.

It's pretty crazy how different it is compared to when I played in vanilla and BC, but I'm enjoying it a lot. Decided to level a new character so I wasn't just bombarded with all the changes at once and I'm currently at level 92, can't wait to get to the legion stuff and grab my artifact weapon. The thing about how streamlined everything is now, is that I'm already thinking of alts and rerolling and I haven't even maxed out yet. The fact that every class and spec is viable really makes me want to try the playstyles I never could in the early game.

Sucks to hear the reason why you're quitting, but I hope everything works out for you.

The leveling experience is fantastic right now actually. It is unfortunate that the game is designed in a way that you won't actually see most of it outside of the current expansion areas.

Yeah that's kind of how I felt. Even though it's great to move through zones so quickly and have an easy path to reach my friends who are 110 and raiding, I know I'm missing out on a lot of cool content, or just speeding through it because you gain experience so quickly. Luckily I already played TBC, but I didn't really quest at all in the Outlands, random dungeons were just too good exp with the insta queue. I barely saw any of Northrend for similar reasons. I stayed a while in Hyjal for the Cata content but even then it was only Hyjal and Deepholm before I hit 85 and was done with that as well. I'm sure it will be the same with the WoD content I'm currently doing, but it's fun nonetheless. I'll probably go back and just solo a bunch of instances later to really get a feel for all the lore. Things move so quickly in the random groups that I couldn't really soak in the encounters.

Nevertheless, I'm surprised how easy it was to admit that the game is simply better now. Or maybe I'm just older and I've turned into a filthy casual. Back as a teenager me and my friends really embraced the grind and hated all the changes made to make the game more appealing for new players, but I can't really argue with their vision now, the normalization has seemed to actually make the game more skill-based, because everyone has gear and it's only ability that will separate you from the pack... I assume. I haven't done any PvP yet, but I feel like I'm going to be severely outmatched when I jump back in, despite being Gladiator level when I initally quit.

See, I picked up the game again this past summer and I did ALL the questing I could. I wanted to experience as much content as I could so I did everything I could. I cleared out most of the pre-60 zones, all of BC, WotLK, Cata, and I was in MoP before I got caught by dailies and then burned out.

PvP is kind of dumbed down from where it was back then...but at the same time, literally gates your talents at max level, which makes no sense and makes it incredibly casual unfriendly at first.

Also its kind of funny because Cata was far and away the worst expansion at max level but made the rest of WoW so much better for the long haul.

Right now WoW is in a bit of a strange place. The content is mostly pretty great, but the handicap players are put at if they don't play the game at an insane rate makes the game very unfriendly to all but the most hardcore, despite looking incredibly casual friendly at a glance. At first it was a neat "oh nice im being rewarded for playing the game", and then it turned into "oh god i better run Maw of Souls another 20 times today".

If you guys need someone else for flex queues or whatever I'm totally up for it, FD - I'm still way scrubbier than you guys but I really enjoyed the matches we played together way back when! That one time you went ballistic and yelled at me about never surrendering early stuck with me and has won me way too many matches to count lol

Definitely kanz. Im not sure when my schedule will have room for league, but once it does and we start playing again ill keep you in the loop.


And I don't recall 'going ballistic' but that certainly sounds like something i would say. Im glad it helped. :)
