They're very rarely actually rude, and it's not about obedience at all. Yelling is not the same as being inconsiderate.

And, trust me, when you're actually in trouble in the military, it's much more calm and collected. Drill sergeants yelling is just a way to handle things for a certain period of time in training. After a couple of weeks, there's very little yelling.

Its like that for like 3 weeks during basic.
Its just a way to make you handle stress and have discipline. You would have future soldiers leaving their stations unattended, forgetting their weapons and sensitive material laying around. Wasn't there a comparison video where the army drill sergeants never raised their voice really and the Marine drill sergeant was much more stereotypical
