Board 8 > I just started Persona 5 (spoilers as I go)

I don't have too much time to play games on weekday nights but considering that persona 4 is my all time favorite game I was very hyped for this.

So far: They are doing everything humanly possible for me to root for this MC. Like, gets screwed for stopping a sexual assault how much more heroic can you possibly get. Also they took my all time least favorite trope (start in the middle of the story) and made it hopelessly vague enough for me not to be bothered by it. Also hot lawyer is my favorite character so far and the kid with her is totally evil. I don't actually have an official prediction there but he rubbed me the wrong way for some reason.

Okay so I am in the first Palace, which I find to be a nice name for this stuff, and I wonder if I am going to be okay with the constant flash forwards or not. So far they aren't so bad but revealing plot details in this manner tends to end up bothering me eventually, so I guess we'll see how strong my resolve on this particular issue is.

I have met what I suppose is the punk best friend type of the game, and he is blonde because he has dyed his hair and he doesn't care much for the guy who clearly enjoys the company of high school girls perhaps a bit too much for an Olympic hero (I am now imagining him as heel Kurt Angle by the way)

Also there is a cat who is supposed to be human calling me rookie when they got captured. Good job cat, good job.

Game is sleek as hell so far and I am enjoying the style quite a bit. Also I will always be a sucker for a character with RESOLVE as a super power.

There is so much resolve going on so far and I love all of it. I don't know how I feel about the first villain being a bit of a comic book villain, but I suppose that's nothing too offensive. I completely want to destroy that guy though, the poor volleyball team.

So Ann they aren't even trying to be subtle with her thief outfit. I am not complaining at all and I am pretty sure Ann is going to be my WAIFU not because of looks (although... I approve) but she seems sweet and I picked up on that pretty quickly when everyone was calling her easy. The game has done a pretty good job of setting the stage for our characters so far without much to go off of honestly. Also blondie was annoying until his persona was a fucking pirate, now he's amazing because he is a fucking pirate.

Shiho was kind to the main character and she was forced to literally jump off a building. Yeah so I am up until that point where it is time to go into the palace proper and murder the hell out of this so called king. They have done a good job of making me want to grind this bastard into dust, plus volleyball sucks so that's an added bonus.

Oh, and Punk Rock Doc being Death means she's getting some priority as well. Punk Rock Doc is pretty great.

Great character designs overall, actually. This game's art direction is absurdly on point, and I don't like red that much.

So far Ann is the best because MEOW.

And you should. Persona 5 gave each confidant side story a benefit to be used in the palace exploration. Death is access to better items that you can purchase for health and status ailments heals. And later, accessories that gives you SP per turn.
