Palace 4 beated. I really liked this palace from a thematic standpoint. Easily my favorite one so far. Futaba the best. Also I liked that they really broke from the formula for how the other palaces thus far have worked. Hope they continue in that vein from here on rather than just making all the rest of the palaces more rehashes of "stop the really corrupt powerful guy" as was the case with the first 3.

Also I just got both Fortune rank 3 and Star rank 1, and I feel like the perks from these social links are really skyrocketing in terms of how useful they are.

Can't wait to see how events unfold leading to the beginning of the game and what happens with Sae

Goro is my primary suspect as to who the imposter is so far, only because there are no other candidates for suspect and the game is going out of its way to camoflage and blend him in with the Phantom Thieves. Lets see I could be wrong but it looks unlikely at this point.

I really need to get Charm into gear. I FEEL like I should be getting to 4 soon, but I know I need 5 for Makoto. It's hard to devote time to just raising a stat when there are other things to do though.

Just got the 6th party member. This 3rd story arc has been much better than the 2nd. It feels like an awesome game again.

Small annoyance for now: party members asking me every day to go into the Palace. Chill. It makes sense story wise but I wish I could tell them I have a magic number telling us were okay for X more days and that it takes 4 days to best a Palace, tops.

The good news is you get a guaranteed rank with him every time you see him from here on, which is much better than almost everyone else! (His availability is pretty sporadic, though.)

It's s combo of the wasted nights and him never being around sometimes. I wanted to get Rank 2 before starting the Palace for the money ability but no dice.

Also, when do I get to slack off in class? I have Temperance up to 5 but it hasn't been and option yet.

Alright. I'm looking forward to the moment I get to make a Molotov cocktail in class.

The P5 protagonist is so goddamn amazing. Hits so many points for me. Only curly haired protagonist ive ever played as. Main weapon is a dagger. Awesome fashion sense. Awesome voice. Acrobatic as fuck.

Also love thinking about how he must seem to his school. Confirmed assault record, late to his first day, bit acts mild mannered and answers all his questions correctly. Then immediately makes friends with a known troublemaker. Then he butts heads with the schools golden teacher...who confesses to crimes and is arrested two weeks later. He also brings his goddamn cat to class. And talks to cat. Who very much seems to be talking back.

OK, I have a sort of logistics/time planning question that I'm not sure if it can get answered. But anyway, the current date for me is 8/13 and it concerns an event I have heard of that I believe will occur soon. I'll spoil it even though I'm not sure of the specifics: I know that some point (soon?) there is a big trip. During this trip special things apparently happen if you have a girlfriend, so I'm trying to get Makoto to that point before that. Like I said, it is 8/13 for me right now and Makoto is at Rank 5 and I need Charm 5 to progress. I got to 4 a couple weeks ago and have gone to the bath and such a few times since then. Do you think I have enough time to do what I want, or is so hopeless I shouldn't bother trying?

Just to reiterate based on a few posts ago, you don't even need to spend time with Sun or Moon to gain points after the link is activated. They are mission and/or time locked and anytime spent "hanging out" achieves nothing.

I'm pretty sure for Sun he'll rank up whenever he calls you and asks to see you (Which is effectively a time lock, as LTM said), and won't rank up otherwise

Not 100%, but that's how I remember it going off the top of my head.

Finally got Fortune rank 7! From how I heard people talking about it I kind of assumed it would just completely break the game and I'd never have to spend time actually hanging out with people, but it looks like that's not completely the case. Oh well, still an insanely useful ability!

It doesn't seem like one use of the ability is enough to jump straight to a rank up in most cases so there's still a lot of days where I either burn a day getting points or just raise social stats. The way I heard people talking about it I thought every day would be just paying her and then going to go get a rank up, but it's not actually that broken, lol.

Well, yeah, if you try to laser in on one link it may not work like that, but provided you have multiple ones available, you can juggle them while paying for the Affinity Reading every day until you finally have the rank up ready.

In a void, maybe. Given that you've got 17 links to level up, though, 99% of the time you've got another link you can level when Fortune isn't enough in one day, so you can just keep popping fortune on the link until it's ready to level.

The super strict optimization guide doesn't have you use Fortune even once (still haven't), so I imagine the math just doesn't work out in the end.

I just found out Matt Mercer is like a D&D guru, and he posts tons of stuff about it on Youtube. I knew there was a guy with that name doing it. I didn't expect it to be the actual voice actor himself. I like him even more now. Between that and Futaba's "Natural Twenty" reference in her social link, I got a hell of a laugh.

I used that as a base but added in some of my own adjustments here and there, and using Fortune got me so ahead of schedule it was kind of comical.

And what I did still wasn't optimal nor was it always intended to be like how I prioritized certain link advancement just because I liked the characters more. There were times where I'd just forget to visit Fortune or lose track of something in my head. Let alone any optimizations I could make if I had the raw numbers in front of me.

I'd say I ended up with about 10 extra free days (day and night) over that guide + having caught the Guardian. I did miss a single gift though, which still puzzles me because I'm not sure what happened there unless it must be done before the link is completed.

yeah the 100% guide is very much not optimal, it kind of seems to be just the author playing through the game once and recording their actions lol

it just goes to show how much easier it is to max everything in this game that they managed it without using something as time-saving as the Fortune abilities and still had weeks to spare to get other achievements, compared to something like original P3 where there was an extremely strict schedule you had to follow to make it

Honestly, given the completely insane amount of things to do, i'm okay with it being easy to max every link. You can play this game through twice and still have missed things.

The ones I know about are Almighty Boost, Almighty Amp, Mage's Gift (Boost for all magic), and Soul Chain (Restore 20 SP when you Baton Pass). It's possible there's more, somewhere out there, though.

So is there a good way to raise Charm during the day. The only way I know of that works all the time (so not like watching a DVD or something) is going to the Diner, but I feel like there has to be a better way.
