While the procedure, is in fact, reversible, it doesn't have a 100% success rate.
Just like how getting tubes tied isn't 100% fool-proof. They can un-tie themselves over time.

I don't know Harpie's situation or reasoning for this because I am not willing to read through this whole topic but...
personally I'm ok with something like this and I wish more people would make the decision to not have children.
If she changes her mind in the future she can adopt.
I've known for a long time that I do not want children and the only thing that makes me second guess that is societal pressure and thinking that people will think I'm odd or bad for not wanting to have any children.

Kids are awful. Source - I remember being one.

Hey, because of that 17 year old Lady, I didn't get sleep. Which put me into not-giving-a-fuck mode. Which in turn made me tell the manager to either move me to the IT place or I'll quit. Which made him look concerned then said he'll talk about how fast he can move me in the morning.

Multiple studies have shown that the regret rate for female sterilization is much higher at a young age compared to the rest of the general female population. If she's on federal health insurance she won't even be covered until she's 21, so it's out of pocket pay to get her tubes tied until then.

IMO that sounds like wanting to cut back on eating so you go and get your stomach stapled.

I personally feel there are very easy and less drastic measures that work perfectly fine. And also less permanent.

Sounds like a good choice. It is reversible and won't make you hormonal like the pill might. Plus you could always freeze some eggs in the event the reversal doesn't work and you change your mind while they are still viable.

There's no guarantee that a BTL is reversible. In fact, most of them aren't. You literally sever the fallopian tube by electrical cautery, and there's usually barely anything left to reanastomose later down the line. Plus there's no guarantee that scar tissue hasn't janked everything up beyond recognition. A BTL (tubes tied) is highly recommended against as a form of temporary BC because it's usually not reversible, despite what the public has heard.

Reason I don't want something less permanent is because I want a 0% chance of getting pregnant. Ever.

I've tried some of the other hormonal BC's (for acne and period control) and it reacted horribly with my body.

Also, I would like to clarify I want my tubes removed entirely, not just tied :p

I've never wanted kids. Sure, I think they can be cute from afar. But going home to one is.. nope.

Three out of five of my cousins are autistic. My brother is autistic too. All low functioning. I am almost guarenteed to have a child with autism if I have kids. So that's another reason why I wouldn't want my own. If I end up wanting kids, I'll adopt.

The likelihood of them having a mental disorder is one of my biggests reasons against having them. People who haven't had to care for someone who's that mentally challenged don't understand the lifelong commitment it takes.
My brother is 350lbs, uncontrollable and violent. He will live with my parents for the rest of his life. My parents admit that he's a huge burden, and that if they had to start over again they wouldn't have kids.

I don't want anything to do with that. At least being childfree or adopting is predictable

Getting your tubes tied (which is just layman's terms for getting them removed, there's no difference in surgical practice), will get you close to zero, as in 99.5% according to ACOG and the CDC, but it's still a nonzero value.
