Dikitain 05/02/17 4:21:22 PM #5:	Spain has the benefit of being a top vacation spot in Europe. Most Americans would rather go to Florida or southern California then cross the border. As for America and the UK, WWI and WWII were equalizers in that regard. Other then Perl Harbor we didn't have to spend any resources fixing our infrastructure due to bombing. --- I am a senior software engineer. The only really successful former colonies I can think of are all British ones.
