I don't like any mayonnaise, so no.

(Yes, I know this was about something else, but I'll still pass)

No, I'm pretty sure it is about mayonnaise.

La Batalla de Puebla. It was a significant unlikely Mexican victory over the occupying French forces. In Mexico, it's mostly just important in Puebla and Veracruz. In the United States, Mexican-Americans use the day to celebrate Mexican-American culture, and white people use it as an excuse to put on outlandish sombreros, eat tacos, and drink tequila.

Cinco de Mayo: I've never partaken in the celebration but I'm guessing I'd probably enjoy it.

Mayo: I generally prefer Miracle Whip, though there are some select foods on which mayo is my go-to.

I think it is silly, but I don't care much one way or the other about it.

The only issue I have is that it means more drunks out on the road, same as new years eve or St. Patricks day.

I was thinking this was going to be a bait topic, but I guess no one here is stupid enough to start bitching about cultural appropriation, I should be relieved.

Cultural appropriation is a good thing.

If you see another culture start "appropriating" something from yours, you know you were doing something right.

My boss bought us Chipotle at work in honor of Cinco De Mayo.
I enjoyed my burrito.

My boss said goodbye as I was leaving work and told me to enjoy Cinco de Mayo.

I told her "Thanks. I plan on walking around my house in a sombrero to celebrate."

Good times.

Went to a Mexican restaurant (no, not Taco Bell :p) several days ago.
Waiter asked if we were coming back May 5th b/c they were having a big Cinco de Mayo celebration.
In turn I asked if they do anything special for Sept. 16th.
Waiter asked me, "what's that?"
:D

I find it rather silly that Cinco de Mayo is a more important holiday than their own independence day, and I don't drink, so I don't particularly care for Cinco de Mayo. Like St. Patrick's Day, it's just another evening I have to avoid being out on the roads to avoid a massive increase in drunk drivers and (even worse) cops set up to nail said drunk drivers but who would probably be fine w/ nailing me for going 5 over the speed limit while they're out there.

I do love Mexican food, though.
