There's so many great games Nintendo can merely port to Switch (MK8 a perfect example) that for the vast majority of people will basically be entirely new games

So Nintendo had a massive backlog of Wii U titles to hold them over until the original stuff comes later. It's insane that the switch is only two months old but already has a top tier Zelda and Mario Kart

Wii U had a lot of great games, and I don't regret getting the console. I had a good time with it. It's crazy to me that people gave it that little chance, like both the developers and the entire customer base all conspired against it.

But then again, the Switch can do everything the Wii U can except simultaneous tv/pad usage.

Yeah it's really amazing that the two best games available for a new console are available on the one I already bought last gen, what a fantastic business strategy! It's almost like I could just keep playing the Wii U games I already own and just wait for the original stuff to come (and a console price drop) instead of buying a brand new game barren console and $60 ports

To be fair literally every first party title on X1 is playable on PC

And the Wii U sold 12 million units . That's such a small user base that if 100% of Wii U owners bought all Nintendo first party titles for the system, they'd still undersell a typical CoD

Not really. I don't want them to give the people like me who actually supported Nintendo with the Wii U those same games.

If they had good third party support, then Wii U ports would be fine as they work on other first party stuff. But if it's gonna be ports with 1-2 good first parties a year and some occasional third party, then it's gonna be yet another slap from Nintendo.

Yeah, releasing the exact same games that couldn't get the Wii U off shelves is the perfect solution to getting Switch off shelves.

A platform that had both the Wii U and 3DS libraries would be pretty damn amazing tbh. Even if that was just limited to first party stuff. That's basically what the Switch is gonna be.

The Switch being portable made it the first time where I went with the Nintendo version of a title over the PS4 version (Puyo Puyo Tetris)
