On one hand, celebrating it is cultural appropriation. Is not giving a fuck racist?

If you don't have a taco in one hand, a bottle of tequila in the other, and a Sombrero on your head then yes, you are a racist.

as a white person myself, i don't think you should have any particular feelings on it. go hang out with some mexicans and see how they celebrate if you really wanna get down like they do, i guess. otherwise, who gives a flying fuck?

St. Patrick is a saint of education and civic organization. The St. Patrick Parade and it's current iteration is actually something that started here and later crept across the sea. Of course that began during a time with Irish immigrants were all but synonymous with cyclical poverty and subject to racial discrimination by nationalist and supremacy groups including the KKK. So the answer to that question is complicated. The best you can probably do now is be conscious of the increasingly problematic exploitation of Irish cultural iconography for commercialism and keep things classy.

Why does it matter if you're white? You know Mexicans can be white. I think around 23% of Mexicans are what you consider white.
Plus Cinco de Mayo is more of an American holiday. It's not celebrated much in Mexico except in Puebla where the Mexican army defeated a French force trying to install a Hapsburg monarch in Mejico.

Wearing a Sombrero and a fake mustache is cultural appropriation. Simply celebrating it is fine.

You shouldn't give a fuck. No one in Mexico cares unless they are from Puebla. It's a much bigger deal in the US because for whatever reason chicanos made it popular, thinking it's the day of our independence.

Nah it got popular in America for the same reason Christmas and St. Patty's Day got popular.
