Yeah, I don't know what people were talking about. I liked it slightly better than the first. In my opinion, GotG is a great superhero franchise specifically because it isn't a superhero franchise.

I saw it yesterday, was fun. Was quite a bit more over the top than I was anticipating though. I mean, sure the first was too, but it's like they just decided to do whatever in thus one. Felt much more unrealistic than the first, which is an odd thing to nitpick on a superhero space adventure lol, but yeah,

Yeah, I was surprised by the emotion of the second half. It was sort of hit or miss, but some of it really hit home for me. Which surprised me, especially for a Marvel movie.

Also, the plot was something straight out of classic sci-fi novel, so I really enjoyed that for a change instead of the standard superhero stock plot.

To be blunt - the first 1/2 the movie almost seemed like the plot writers said "fuck it" and just tossed in as many hilarious lines and sequences as possible. Drax had me rolling on my ass laughing.

I feel it should have ended with Star lord putting on his headphones, turning on the zune, and laying down in his bed and *squish* there's something in his pillow. The credits start as he yells at rocket, and you hear drax and rocket start laughing.

KogaSteelfang needs to go into screenwriting TBH. That's a brilliant ending. Drax's laugh would make it great - but you could even add Drax saying something like "AHAHAHA! I have FAMOUSLY huge turds!"

Definitely better than the first. I much appreciated that it actually felt like an ensemble cast, instead of the Starlord comedy hour like the first.

I went into it expecting it to be worse than the first one because of what I read on CE.

But I laughed more and ended up enjoying it even more than the first

Drax in particular was a highlight of the movie.

Thought it was the best MCU and overall superhero movie yet. Hilarious, emotional, nuanced characters. Pretty much perfect summer movie.

Also, I think that Chris Pratt should shave the mustache back down to the length that it was in the first one....his facial hair was really distracting.

I think CA:WS is still a perfect sequel but in a totally different way.

I always thought GotG did the Marvel superhero humor thing a lot better than the other movies. And this one was pretty much the poster-child for Marvel superhero silliness, in a good way, while also having a serious plot that had me anxious enough about the ending.

Also saying this now:Ego the Living Planetwas a better villain than Ultron was. The whole movie was WAY better than I was expecting.
