Ah yeah it probably would help on the job hunting front. I had long hair myself. Cut it short for my sisters wedding, grown it long again but then got it cut again when I had a job interview. Since then I've just kept it short. I do miss my long hair though.

It's a fine line between looking how you want and looking how others would like you to. I mean, a grungy guy with nasty hair and a neckbeard may love his style, but eventually virginity will suck and he will probably sell out. If I had dreadlocks and a goatee or something, I'd hope somebody would wrestle me to the ground and remove them.

I hated having to cut my long hair for job hunting. I couldn't cut it all at once. It had to do it I stages. It took three hairstyles, each shorter than the last before it was short enough to look "professional"

My hairline had just started receding as well so it was gonna have to end up short eventually. Long hair just doesn't look good when the hairline has noticeably receded.
