I've never tinkered with it beyond very rudimentary data entry whenever I need a quick spreadsheet. But now that I'm taking my finances much more seriously, I've been learning more about it what it can. You can define formulas so quickly, and drag and drop across entire columns. O.o And it just works! And you can play with different numbers, and everything updates itself so quickly!

Can't wait to start adding charts and colors and shit!

i had to do some amortization tables for this interest theory class this semester and it was a cinch. i did the entire project in about 20 minutes, when it was supposed to be a group thing that we had like a month to work on

It's amazing for amortization tables to see Interest you will be paying during the life of your car loan or w/e you just bought. ^_^

Excel 2013 and 2016 are particularly awesome in how many more features they have over Excel 2003 and just how gosh darn convenient they are.

Hell it's the reason why I bothered updating my perfect XP computer to windows 8.1 for Microsoft Office alone. Everything else has been worse but the office programs.

When using excel with my (very) basic skills, my mind always remembers the "you have the power of the internet in your palm, and you're using it to look at cat pictures?" meme.

I've got my expenses set up in every column, including my car loan. I got it to subtract the payment amount from the car loan each month, and once the balance is 0 it then applies the amount of the car loan to my income. And I can also set it up so that it automatically starts applying the payment amount elsewhere, like against student loans instead.
