Metal Gear and Castlevania are pretty much dead now thanks to Konami. The Legend of Zelda is doing great. Final Fantasy is still ticking. Mega Man is '87, too, right? That one is pretty dead with occasional thumps of life. Ahh, the year of my birth is a special time for joy.

i do have a problem, actually. if you're counting FF and Metal Gear as 87, then Zelda, Metroid and Castlevania have to be 86.

Much of this site grew up in the 90s and certain games - Chrono Trigger being one of them - have an unmatchable nostalgia.
GameFAQs doesn't have anywhere near as many Gen-Xers as it does Millennials. Most of us were either unborn or in diapers in 1987, so the same nostalgia is not present considering any games from that year had to be played retroactively. We did not experience the same mind-blowingly awesome feelings that our forefathers did in the original Zelda or Metroidvania. We got those from SNES, N64, and PSX games, thus those have the fondest place in our hearts. Expect 1997 or 1998 to win this. --- http://i.imgur.com/t3naEGu.jpg I'm BlueCrystalTear, probably at work. ... Copied to Clipboard!
