Also, is Ergo Proxy worth looking into? I enjoy dark shows, and I've had the title written down as something to look into, but I never did.

Can't remember why I stopped watching Shiki but I was thinking about it the other night. Prolly give that a run.

And Ergo Proxy is fucking good if you're okay with slow, philosophical stuff. Probably my favorite setting in an anime.

Loved the art, loved the humor, loved the setting/background, loved Watashi. All in all it was a fun anime, felt unique. I think Watashi really made most of the anime work. I've seen some of Gurren Lagaan (didn't care too much for it), was actually watching Future Diary until shit got all weird and lost interest, and was in the middle of Code Geass before losing interest for a little bit, gonna go back to that one.

Anyways, I decided to pick Shiki back up. 4 episodes in and I'm enjoying it. Gonna get around to adding some of these recs to my list.

If you like sci-fi and time-travel stuff, Steins;Gate is pretty good. Not sure what you mean by "mood whiplash like FMA:B" since I've never watched FMA:B though, so I'm not sure about that. Not only that, but I tend to not notice at all when there's a mood whiplash, so I can't tell if there's one in Steins;Gates.

Nevermind, I just noticed that you've already saw it. Still gonna leave that here for others who want a rec.

Basically I mean, if there's a dramatic/suspenseful moment, I don't want it temporarily broken by random humor that isn't even funny. I'd rather the tone stay set for a scene instead of fluctuating. Steins;Gate tended to keep the funny scenes on their own, and serious business had its own room to work in.


So I'm running a Shiki marathon today since it's so fucking good (on ep 11 I think), I'll prolly be picking up one of these recs next

I mean sometimes it's funny, but the characters kinda suck. Like Aqua is an annoying bitch, but so far she's the only one who has a personality besides Kazuma. I'm holding out hope for the girl with black hair and a badge, hasnt shown up but she's damn sexy from the intro.

Yeah I couldn't find a reliable place to watch Monster so I'm really knocking stuff I can easily stream with stable quality before I tackle that beast. Paranoia Agent, can't remember if I finished it or not. I'll go back to it after Konosuba.

And fuck yeah we got similar tastes. Just a warning, SEL and Texhnolyze are slooooow. Like SEL doesn't pick up til halfway through, and Texhnolyze has a kinda misleading first part, and after that it's still slow. But they're still good anime, I especially recommend Texhnolyze. If you could handle Ergo Proxy, you can do Texhnolyze. Steins;Gate is classic and worth a watch.
