I saw a commercial for the new season and I'm like how the fuck is this still on?
It's like 75% commercials, stupid sob stories, training montages and unnecessary replays/anslysis with 25% actual people running through the course. They also cut out the majority of people. Imagine getting involved in all those absurd training exercises and auditioning to get on the show and then when it finally happens you don't even get to be on TV. Also, my understanding is that basically nobody makes it to the end or wins. What's the appeal of a competition show where nobody ever wins? ... Copied to Clipboard!

The appeal, is that there are very few winners, so winning puts you into a small group that were able to do something. Also, it's looks fun.

The thing is though.. the American courses are like 1000x harder than the Japanese courses. But the Japanese ones were so fucking epic. ... Copied to Clipboard!

But those are reasons to participate, not reasons why it's entertaining. It's a TV show more than it's a competition, and as a TV show it sucks. I'm not sure it's worth it from a participant perspective either. It seems like it's hard to get into and even if you can, chances are you won't be on TV and/or the entire experience will be around a minute. ... Copied to Clipboard!
