well?

so for the first time ever ive pretty much just quit on the spot. i was working in a pretty shitty workplace, where everyone hated the management, people were constantly quitting/being fired, and even though i had good rapport one day enough was enough.

i just got a letter of 'non compliance' for not attending some mandatory training day that i wasnt allowed to attend at the time because they needed me so badly on the floor because of a lack of staff. this non compliance letter threatened disciplinary action if i couldnt give an acceptable reason why i didnt show up to this training day. i emailed them back saying my acceptable reason was i was at work and wasnt allowed to leave(our manager that day didnt staff us properly to cover for this situation and said i was too important to leave the floor) and the threat of disciplinary aciton made me feel like a child being threatened with detention from the principal.

i resigned immediatly and am now at home instead of attending my final 2 shifts this week. feels like a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders. i know its fucking stupid to burn bridges because references are sacred but oh well.

financially i have more than enough money to cover rent for the next 4-5 months so i should be okay

what about you CE?

No but I've felt like it. Someone did that at work once but I wasn't there.

I tell myself the catharsis I get from blowing up at a job and quitting would be orgasmic, but I know it's wholly unpractical.

Hell, I've been rehired at a place and gotten two different people jobs because I kept my ties to a certain person/corporation.

It's helpful, regardless of how I felt at the job.

I didn't burn the bridge, I lied about why I had to quit without notice and they gave me a sympathy card instead of a bad reference
sucks but I was a dumb kid

first job I worked was super shit as a grocery store clerk

got offered a second job but it started like a week after i got the notice

quit on the spot because a) a reference from a grocery store isn't ever going to benefit me, b) I didn't want to work two jobs, c) I was still within the 3-month period wherein I'm given the right to quit on the spot without penalty, and d) seriously fuck grocery store work

Never like a ragequit situation, but I have been fired for no call/no shows in the past when I woke up late after wild nights of partying. This was in high school, so I didn't care. They asked me back later anyway
