I know theres no point to max level, but I feel like I wanna do it just to do it.

If I battle monsters on the heaven/hell islands I gain like 1-2 levels per battle, though I imagine that would slow to a crawl at some point? Im level 40ish right now

I like getting max level just to see the bigger numbers flash on screen.

I kinda feel like I should one level this game at some point, it HAS to be easy since levels mean literally nothing in this game, though before you can get enc_none it must be a pain, i also dont know how bosses are handled either

Well, the whole level scaling system becomes irrelevant once you figure out how broken the junction system is.

You can get so OP by the end of the game (regardless of level) that it's a breeze.

Oh yeah, I know. I've beat the game at my current levels, I am now playing in a save just before I get to the castle(before the chain you walk on with portals to the outside world)

I'm not 100% sure but I think bosses only give you ap so they won't be a problem.

well i meant beating them, but I guess after a short while junctioning takes over.

I guess it would go like this

run from every battle until you get enc none

before you get good junctioning stuff, spam GFs on bosses

draw tons of magic early and often

make good use of GF abilities.

Enemies scale with level, so leveling up makes the game more difficult.

But it's not a hard game at all thanks to the junction system, so go nuts.

Do bosses scale with level? I wanna say that they don't, but I could be mixing it up with FFT which doesn't have scaling bosses.

I remember when I first played it as a kid I was doing just fine until I got to the battle at the beginning of the obelisk thing. I couldn't for the life of me beat the boss and there was no way I could back out either so I had to start over.

It was a rookie, child mistake.

I have maxed leveled FF8 twice (yes, it is my favorite FF so I have actually played it quite a bit). It doesn't really do much to be honest, I think your HP without any junction maxes out at around 3500 - 5000 depending on the character, and your stands usually max out at the low 100's. The easier thing to do is farm a lot of stat-up items towards the end by winning and converting high level cards from Triple Triad. Doing that, you can max out almost all of your stats with no junctioning, but it takes a VERY long time (like around 100 hours or more), but as a result most of your stats are 255 and your HP will be 9999 with no junctions.

Bosses don't scale, just regular monsters. Even then, people make a big deal out of it when it really isn't one. Monsters only get harder every 10 levels, and even then they only gain a few levels worth of stats. Plus, they usually gain better magic to junction so you level up FAR faster then the monsters as long as you are playing properly.

more magic hell yeah. sadly the only gf I do not have is the one that gives you the ability to see hidden draw points. boooo

My plan is to lvl to 99, because fuck it each battle i win on heaven or hell gives all characters a lvl up, and outside of marlboro(yes, we knew smoking causes Bad Breath) the fights are easy. Then get 99 of each important magic(ultima, etc) for my 3 person team. Then go destroy everything!!

Not sure why I picked Quistis and Irvine, rather than Rhinoa for one of em as i like her more than the both, but fuck it i aint changing now.

Though it is sad to me outside of the card game there isnt much left to do or explore or anything. boo

Basically the battle system is fucked when in almost any battle on there outside of marlboro I can use mad rush and grind victories out like nothing.

Oh, I also got my seed level up to max so now I make more $$$ when the game suddenly decides to give me some.

i think my last piece of business would be to get the final weapons for each character I use. In this save I got Lionheart disc one just to say I did, but I only have second weapons for q and irv, as until recently i just skirted by with junctioned magic and enc none all game. Im going all out now! oh and getting all GF abilities just to say I did. I know of cactuar island but I figure I'll knock some of the remaining few, if not all with heaven and hell monsters through grind.
