This involves a three pronged approach:

1) Cut hours. No more Saturday work. Should we hire more regular workers to save money over overtime and a 6th day of operation? Nah.

B> Requote EV ER EEE THIIIING. Every single requisition form, no matter how small, have it quoted by at least two other companies. This leads a massive slow down in purchases, even time sensative ones, being acquired on time. Last year we ended up with a 3 month backlog of orders. I literally had a machine sitting for 3 weeks doing nothing because they refused to order my material.

Γ} Start nitpicking everyone's productivity. Hey, we will stand here and ask you why you do everything you do and why you can't just do it another way. What is this machine? What is a Hole Popper? What does it Do? Make holes, that's it? Can't you just put that in a mill and make the hole that way cheaper and we can get rid of this machine? Oh the material is harder than a drill and it's 3 inches thick with a .031" diameter hole? You sure we can't do it faster on anoth... it's already done 5 holes since I started talking? Yeah, but can you do it faster?

This will go on for a month or less. They'll realize how behind we get in everything and we'll spend 2 months trying to catch up.

Luckily for me, I'm 2 years behind as it is. And it's getting worse.

What fun. I'm just annoyed I won't get my Saturday overtime.

I work in retail and this hits the mark. Always a disconnect between the boardroom and the shop/warehouse.

It certainly can't be the bonuses at the top that get cut. We can't forget about those ivory back scratchers lol

My last company actually cut all pay to the executive board, sold their private jet, and closed down the corporate offices.

But that's what has to be done when a company with a 15m a year in sales loses 1.5 million in cash in two months and is forced to layoff the highest paid workers in every department.
