So I'm just gonna come out and say what we're all thinking. Uprising was a better anniversary event than the actual anniversary event.

Given how soon it happened after Uprising, I think it's obvious that it didn't have as much effort put in.

The skins aren't really themed in any way, and I imagine the dances were coming regardless. It's likely just an excuse to release a bunch of the stuff they've been working on and get better profit margins.

I wonder if next year they'll try and schedule the events in a more regular fashion, every two months or something. I guess the proximity of Christmas and Chinese New Year throws a bit of a wrench in that. I assume they'll both have an event every year as they're the biggest holidays in their respective markets.

I was curious about my overall luck in each event, and decided to do a quick tally. This doesn't include anything I've bought, or any dupes or non-event items i got.

Summer:
3 golds, 5 purples
Halloween:
3 golds, 4 purples
Christmas:
1 gold, 8 purples
China:
4 golds, 4 purples
Uprising:
3 golds, 4 purples
Anniversary (so far):
2 golds, 3 purples

Kind of surprised at how consistent it's been.

Christmas was weird though. I didn't get to play a lot but apparently I got a lot of fucking purples.

I also need to upgrade. My current PC wasn't built for gaming, but it has a GTX 960 in it. Which isn't bad, but I need a bigger case so I can get a bigger Motherboard to have more RAM.

I don't wanna sound......I dunno how to put it, but Maybe the casual side complained enough about Roadhog to FINALLY get him nerfed?, I mean, I know there are some out there (Er, Not on here I mean) who don't wanna hear it but, not EVERYTHING should cater to the competitive side, that would just alienate and irritate the casual side.

Even if Roadhog isn't "OP" for the pro/competitive players, he's still annoying to fight, along with some others, on the casual side, when you make your buff and nerf decisions based solely on what's too good or not good on Competitive, you totally ignore or just don't care how that affects the casual players, Like, I swore at one point Mei had her Ult Range buffed due to "Her not being used often in Competitive", which seems like a really silly reason to buff her.

This is just my silly little thoughts though, Not trying to annoy anyone or.....something.....I suck at words....

When people make a game that's PvP, they need to ask one question.

"Is this game for casuals or should this game be more competitive?"

Then the balance should be focused on whichever you want your game to be. You can't balance it for both sides.

That being said, the Roadhog nerf shouldn't really be considered a nerf. While he can't hook and 1 shot things as easily now, he can shoot faster so will probably still get the kill from hooking most of the time.

And as far as him being annoying to fight, the only thing that will make him not annoying to fight for casuals is if they remove his hook and give him some other ability. The stun, pull and stun will always be annoying for casuals.

It would only annoy someone who plays competitive if they want the game to be balance competitively. Not everyone wants to play a game where casuals can get characters nerfed, especially if the character doesn't even need a nerf.

I'm sorry but, annoying to fight really doesn't mean the character needs a nerf. I think Roadhog is annoying to fight against when he's landing his hooks, but I know he doesn't need a nerf because of that.

Another thing that helps, is to play as the character and learn them. Then you'll understand more about how to dodge their attacks or how to engage them. The problem with casuals is they might not want to do that and just scream "OP" when something kills them a lot.

I'm actually looking forward to using the new Roadhog. I'm betting I'll still get a bunch of kills by hooking people! Before, I'd hook them and shoot them in the face once, now I'll be able to hook them and shoot them in the face twice!! Double tap head shot yo!!!

I think the Roadhog thing is a pretty big nerf. Sure, they gave him compensation, but not equal compensation. With the spread nerf from before, it's already not a guaranteed kill after a hook. Now, Roadhog is going to get punished a bit if he can't quickly land the kill and walk away to heal as he likes to do. Also , it's going to give even more chances for characters with defensive/evasive abilities to use them to escape after a hook, so the increased firing speed won't matter when they already zipped away.

I haven't seen new Roadhog in action, but I'm assuming he's more of an alt fire spammer now and he needs his team to help secure hook kills. It probably makes him less viable as a 1v1 threat unless you prime them with some alt fire shots before a hook.

All the high ranked players are saying he's going to go the bottom tier

I normally don't look at people's ranks but a while ago some dude and his friend got mad at my heals in QP and bitched me out in all chat, then the other team pointed out he was in like bronze/silver and I was a diamond healer, so that was kind of funny.

On that subject, I personally wish I could kick players from matches who do that, whenever one of us plays Mayhem, there's an Ana on the enemy team, and an Ally says "Group up" or something, I usually take the hint that a certain player needs their ass kicked......The constant sleep dart is nothing but bait for "HILARIOUS Overwatch moments #409!!!!" or something....
