It's not even what the food is. I think this is it as well. I'm always amazed whenever I go to a fast food place or a restaurant and each meal is 1500 to 2000+ calories, and that's just for one meal. Just eating fast food three times a day probably adds 3000 to 5000 calories to your daily intake, and the majority of people don't do nearly enough physical activity to warrant that many calories. ... And this is why dating sucks for a lot of people. 40% of women are obese. Even more are overweight, since the threshold for obese is fatter than for overweight. I just don't understand why people get in really bad shape. Physical activity is FUN! Do you want my sob story? Because this is how you get my sob story. Actually, it's not very long. I didn't get fat until my teens. When I was a kid my family was poor af. We never had extra food, sometimes we had no food at all. Sometimes we were homeless. When food became a readily available thing, all I ever wanted to do was eat it. I wanted to try everything. So many things I'd never had, and I was bound to have them all. And I ate, and ate, and ate. And I experienced many flavors and combinations. And before I knew it I was a balloon and addicted to food. And I just stayed that way for like twelve years. ... i can get how someone would be out of shape, chubby etc You'd be surprised. A lot of people who in your eyes would be "chubby" probably fit the medical definition of obesity; you're just so used to seeing everyone being kind of fat these days that it doesn't stand out. EDIT: It's also very interesting to me the stark difference between the measured and self-reported countries on the list (except Japan and SK). - Don't drink shit with sugar. - Don't eat shit with sugar. - Don't eat shitty fast food. - Don't eat after 8pm. That would work for like 80% of the obese population. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I just don't understand how people can keep gaining weight without having an "oh shit" moment. I started gaining weight a few years ago and as soon as I stepped on a scale one day and saw199lbs, I made damn sure I was never going to see 200 pop up. I changed my eating habits and started exercising that day. I've had ups and downs and I'm still a bit heavier than I'd like to be, but I'm certainly healthier than I was. This. I lost weight. Yeah, people like to cite the muscular people who may be overweight by BMI but normal weight by body fat percentage, but for the vast majority of people BMI actually has a tendency to under-indicate the presence of excess body fat. There are a lot of overweight people with a BMI of 23 or 24.

There are a lot of overweight people with a BMI of 23 or 24. The BMI is definitely more overindicating than under indicistjng in most cases. It literally only takes into account weigh and height, ignoring muscle, bones, whatever else.
