They're easy, quick reads with subject material that hit a wide range of people's interests. As to his continued success, I think name recognition has a lot to do with it.

he's good at marketing himself

for someone first getting into reading, he'll be the first author you'll learn about since his name is so largely printed on so many clustered books. he'll also be the first author who you remember the face of since his is plastered on the back of every book of his.

A couple of weeks ago I actually saw a him appear in a tv ad for one of his books. I've never seen another author do that

He's been doing that for years. They're not really good commercials, though. Just him talking about whatever book he's trying to sell in a very bored and uninterested tone.

Yeah, I don't really recall any other popular books getting TV ads.

Plus, doesn't he only do part of the writing in his books?
