Also Dave posted about how USA Network is only in 900k fewer homes than their peak coverage, so you can't blame cord cutting for the vast majority of lost viewership.

He's also mentioned on a couple of occasions that ratings aren't based solely on cord cutting, but on how many homes actually exist. Ratings would level out or not change at all. I think what he's getting at is the rating is the ratio, whether its in 1 million homes or 900,000. He claims WWE's at fault for the massive decline. Raw is just getting hurt way worse. Smackdown seems to stay stable, around the 2.3-2.6 marks. That was what WWE was shooting for with the brand split; an increase, and they've gotten 85%-90% of what Raw gets. Higher if Cena stays for an extended period or they book a PPV-quality Smackdown in advance.

The other thing to note is something Dave mentioned about Impact. All the Hardy stuff in the world couldn't save Impact from the stink of "being TNA." The same could be said for Raw. We have been conditioned to think Raw is absolute shit, and to just catch Youtube highlights. The effects are beginning to show, even if you have decent outings every so often. One dreadful segment can hang like a shroud over an entire Raw, making people go, "the hell am I watching this for?"

Smackdown isn't always great, but the tends to be considered the more consistent "A" show quality, even without the crazy hype machine Raw gets.

Raw this week is definitely making me think this is true. I've heard a ton of negative about it-- keep in mind I skipped Bayley/Alexa because I wasn't feeling like a masochist today, but like, even assuming it was death, it was maybe 8-10 minutes tops. The rest of the show was for the most part fine.

So Mack vs Johnny Mundo in All Night Long made me remember why I love wrestling. What a fucking amazing match, start to finish. It has all the gimmicky fun and drama a wrestling match like that ought to have. It brought me so much joy to watch.

I'm glad someone else loved that much too. Fuck Tyler Bate vs. Pete Dunne. Mundo and Mack was so goddamn entertaining and just flat out fun. Probably my favorite match since Ishii vs. Omega.

I had a lot more enjoyment watching Mundo vs Mack All Night Long than I did Bate vs Dunne, I'll second that. Not to say I didn't love Bate vs Dunne, but I mean... I watch wrestling to have fun and enjoy myself. And Mundo vs Mack was just so much fun. And honestly, that's what I think is most important. You can have super serious matches, but in the end we're all supposed to be entertained, and Mundo vs Mack was far more entertaining.

I know when Bryan and Vinny eventually talk about it they'll say "It was so overbooked, but it was great", but man. Who gives a shit when the overbooked aspect actually adds even more to the drama of it instead of just being a stupid fucking mess like it usually is when WWE does it?

Basically what I'm saying is everyone should watch Mundo vs Mack All Night Long.
