Let's post restaurants that we've gone to that we would recommend, so that if any CEMen travel or live in the area, they can try it out.

NYC

-Tikka Indian Grill - Indian restaurant in Williamsburg. I've been eating at many different Indian restaurants for over 20 years and this one is one of the best I've ever tasted. The prices are great (you can get an entree for $12.95) and they come with rice (several Indian restaurants I've gone to have charged separate for rice).

Detroit

Slow's BBQ

https://slowsbarbq.com

Best BBQ in Detroit, along with the best beer selection, focusing on local breweries. They even have awesome vegetarian selections for such a meat-centric establishment. Located next to downtown, across from the old train station and next to old Tigers Stadium.

Chattanooga

Mrs. B's Reggae Cafe

https://mrsbsreggaecafe.com/

Best Jamaican food you'll ever have. Lots of selection everything from jerk chicken to curry goat to an amazing black rum cake. And to add to the atmosphere the reggae music played in the restaurant is top notch.

So good, they've been featured on the travel channel as a premier destination restaurant in Detroit.

Yours sounds good, too. Indian is my personal favorite

Thanks, Indian is one of my favorites too when it is done well. It was just difficult finding the right Indian restaurant since most of them seem to be overpriced or charged extra for rice. The one in Queens that was perfect closed down, the one around the corner from it was very bland. I am so glad I found the one I mentioned in my OP, each dish has a distinct taste.

Baltimore

Germano's Piattini

Classic old-world italian restaurant. Properly done osso bucco, the works. When I was there it was a Trattorria and they had a guy walking around playing the violin near tables. Strong wine selection, but as it's not a 'three course meal only' atmosphere, also works to sit down for a bite.

DC

Rose's Luxury

Suck it, Coolppl, I got to this thread first. Rose's is pretty much the only "tasting menu" type restaurant in DC that's worth going to if you're not super rich. Because it's designed for locals to be able to go to. They still have all the inventiveness of the $500/plate places but let you break it down to the exact number of things you want to try (and scale it by size from a 'full meal' item that is listed as for two to mock you--for $27--to bites for $5) . Excellent beer and wine list as well, and one of the best atmospheres of any restaurant I've ever been to.
