My second season of career, 29 laps on Australia. Race starts with light rain, and over several attempts I had discovered new and creative ways to fuck up (mostly trying to do too much from my 9th place start).

So in the chaos of the first few turns, I move up to seventh, but damage my front wing in the process. My instinct is to restart, because I'm lame like that (and because I'd had much better, cleaner starts), but decide against it. The damage is light enough that I didn't seem to be losing too much, if any time from it. I maintain my position through the early part of the race. Rain stops about lap 12, but the track is slow to dry. The AI all decides to pit and get new intermediate tires around lap 14-15. I decide to stay out, until lap 19 on my first pair of inters, and put on medium (dry) tires instead.

Having done that, I quickly realized that I was a couple laps too soon. The track appeared dry, but mediums weren't quite the best fit, and I couldn't gain on the top six cars. Spent a long time like 10-15 seconds behind Vettel in sixth.But over the final five or so laps, the advantage of being on slicks starts to pay off, and I'm making big gains. Some cars I pass outright, others pit in for new tires. Lapped traffic (also mainly on intermediates) held up the leaders a bit, helping me out.

Raikkonen was the final holdout, in first place on intermediates, and I blew by him on the final lap to win the race. And all with a damaged wing. I recorded a clip on my Xbox, but it doesn't seem to be showing up online yet...

First off, I was glad this wasn't about Monaco.
I still haven't seen it, and am waiting for....the place that i watch it...to upload it.
((Though I do know who won.)) I wish for nothing more to be spoiled.

Anyway, which year are you playing?
I play 2014, but I've never played a full race. I keep down to the 5 lap mark, on professional settings.

Wait what? You drive with a racing line, and for Haas.
Also I tend to play as Kimi, so I take this kind of personally...

The racing line is because I'm bad. The Haas is because I'm American. and thought it'd be cool to improve them throughout my career.

Ya, it's actually odd that there is an American team. Which at this point isn't much worse than Honda.

I'm still hoping....against hope that they bring that race to New Jersey, overlooking Manhattan.
I don't suppose Watkins Glen will ever happen again.
