iPhone 7 (4.7in) compared with S8 (5.8in)
CSQ3J6v

iPhone 7 Plus (5.5in) compared with S8 Plus (6.2in)
WxDebAu

Overall:
bg0wTM2

The smaller S8 has a bigger screen than the 7 Plus, but is about the same size as the small 7.
The larger S8 is still smaller than the 7 plus despite having a massively larger screen.

Looking forward to a bezel-less iPhone, though.

They desperately need to add a headphone port, by all means. Screen size barely matters when your phone is 1/4 the size of a small laptop - needing a dongle to listen to music is slightly less pointless than the old periphery Nokia headphones that plugged into the charging jack or w/e. It's not price-gouging for a shitty pair of brand-name headphones with a shitty jack, but selling a shitty, useless piece of cord to let you use your headphones isn't much better.

There's no reason to take out something that has become a standard, that takes up like an inch of room in a phone at most, only to replace it with an overpriced lump of plastic and rubber that exists solely to provide that same function.

The only good thing to come out of this has been watching morons drill holes in their iPhones because they fell for a 4chan iPhone support mock-up.

I don't see how Apple could justify removing the headphone jack considering how much wasted bezel space there is

Apple doesn't have to do shit because as long as their logo is on the package, it'll sell like hotcakes

This. People are willing to pay twice as much for an apple.. and heck, it's not even a full apple, there's a bite taken out of it!

There's also rumor that there will be iPhone 7S and 7S Plus models which are basically like the current ones, and then the "Eight" will be sort of a "Signature Edition" 10th anniversary phone which will have an AMOLED screen and be insanely expensive

Yeah. I would get the S8 over the iphone 7 because it's like 6 months fucking newer than the iphone 7

I still cannot stand just how laggy the Android interface is. nothing flows right. you click an app and their is just that ever so slight lag and i cannot stand it

apple interface is snappy and smooth. a lot of it is processor speed but it's also just better animated transitions

Android hasn't really been like that since 5.0, especially on flagship devices.

I'm still rocking the Iphone 5s but definitely in need of an upgrade so I'm looking forward to whatever improvements the new models will have

Couldn't care less about the headphone jack though, I don't even use it on my phone anymore since getting a set of bluetooth headphones

It honestly might be getting time to short Apple stock, I'm getting that feeling. But of course one would need to spend a lot of time actually studying their financial statements first...

Does android stack up well in the app dept?

I would consider one of the samsungs as they are great phones.

I don't like that every phone has to be massive these days. 4.7" is like the perfect screen size for me.

I have a Turbo 2 with I think 5.4" and I'm forced to use both hands. My old HTC One M7 was 4.7" and I never NEEDED to use two hands on it.

Samsung usually makes better hardware, I don't think that's an argument. Speakers still need some work compared to the 7 however.

But the biggest deciding factor in me not going back to Android after the Note 7 is how shit Android still is. There's a distinct segregation between native Android features and Samsung's proprietary bullshit that means you can't get the stock Android experience, and rooting is impossible since the boot loaders aren't unlocked.

iOS, Mac OS and Watch OS all work wonderfully on their own and with each other. It's a bit restrictive, but the exchange is a consistent and stable OS that runs as fast as the day I got it.

The point is that you can fit a 5.8 inch screen in the same dimensions as the 4.7 inch iPhone 7

Eh, I'm mad like everyone else but tbh bluetooth headphones are so inexpensive now where the workarounds are worth the removal of it

I had bluetooth headsets even back when I still had the 6 Plus

eh

i like my iphone 7 and while i have some complaints about it, the design is fine. i like that apple kind of takes their time with big design changes and doesn't just follow every flavor of the month trend out there like a lot of android OEMs do.

the full size screen is a neat feature but i have a feeling that it will be like the edge screens on the s6 i have, where it just makes the phone kind of tough to hold unless it's in a big case. i dont use a case on my iphone 7 90% of the time so the feel of the phone in the hand is a big deal for me
