I would love to play this game just because it's so random sounding. It's one that I'd always see in stores and always pass up. I did play and love Eternal Sonata though

I liked it. It's very rough-around-the-edges, but the combat is fast-paced, the dungeons are very entertaining, crafting is addicting, and the post-game is staple Tri-Ace goodness. Story isn't so great, but Capel was handled very well in terms of seeing his growth over the course of the journey.

I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than SO4 at any rate. Exist Archive is some more recent Tri-Ace trash. Not sure why Tri-Ace keeps giving us Star Ocean instead of Valkyrie Profile - EASILY the greatest game ever made.

Man, did I enjoy/hate getting all the achievements for that game.

I hooked my 360 back up

i even grabbed star ocean 4 to see where my save is on that, and if it's after lymle then i might pick it back up.

but seeing as how the save says i'm level 1, and have only played for 55 minutes, i'm thinking i might not play it, or at least heavily edit the save.

i like it. i just don't see how you can write a guide for it, because i found quests that no guide i read had. i went back to the original town to find more quest that acutally broke the game, because the loot was so good.

Spoilers for the game

My memory is funny, but I always thought it was cool that the game killed off the chick (I think?) and the Capell dude got super surly after it for the rest of the game (or at least for what I played). I don't recall a lot of games that have done that where a main character seemed genuinely affected by the loss of a party member.

In any case, I remember it being fairly mediocre otherwise.
