Eh, in his early youtube career he has done very cringey things like making all his thumbnails click bait with half naked girls on there; to doing give aways to people who comment, like, and subscribe to cheat the youtube system; to at one point dedicate his channel as a celebrity gossip one. Of course that was all in the past and in his current form right now, I approve of his content. He's pretty fair when it comes to news stories once in a while provides thoughtful (and sometimes funny) commentary for certain stories he covers. And him dedicating to having a news channel that is all crowd funded is a rather impressive feat in of its own. I look forward to what he does in the future if he's going to end up successful or crumble down.

I've been watching him a loooong time and still do. I've always liked how he at least mentions the other side of the argument, even if he doesn't agree with it. So few people/sites do that.

Well I've watched him work his way to his current position, so in a way, I kind of grew up on PhillyD. He didn't always have a team. It's been really cool to watch him grow and find his niche. His set USED TO BE a room in his house and it didn't look that different, so it's funny you pointed that out

It's always important to remember that this guy has a huge staff dedicated to make him look good. I honestly think he's very fake. Everything about him is engineered to look like some amateur youtuber, when nothing could be further from the truth. Even his set is modeled to look like it's some room in his house. Like it's his bedroom or something.

All of his news stories are very hollow. He frames it as being objective but it's really just walking the middle of the road in order to maintain the most views. He uses HUGE clickbait titles that twist the stories he's supposed to be "reporting." Like he twisted that Alamo Drafthouse controversy as "backlash against new Wonder Woman movie." That was some extreme bullshit ass clickbait.

Last I heard everything about this guy was owned by Discovery Communications. They probably own his kid's soul too. I heard that's why he's resorted to asking for money on patreon. He's more than happy to blow your money but damn if he's going to risk his own. The guy is just fake.

He released videos with absolutely no jump cuts, but he actually does his videos in one take and then just cuts out any brief pauses or him reading the next thing in line. The cuts make the videos far shorter and easier to watch

I started watching his stuff a few months ago, and while I can't comment on his earlier, more clickbait stuff, I do like how he chooses a few topics of discussion and attempts to present it in a balanced way that deals only with the facts, not the spin. He does get a little self-righteous and holier-than-thou in some of his opinions, but those involved more visceral stuff, like domestic disputes, child endangerment, and other things where the base emotion is to feel anger at hearing about. I especially love his coverage of the 'daddyof5' issue.

No. What he did was present it as a group of people being upset at exclusionary practices based on gender, then went on to say as long as it doesn't become a regular thing, he doesn't have a problem with it.

Edit: oh, I see you're referring specifically to his titles. Yeah, his titles are very clickbait, and I do have a problem with that. Other than that, and the naming of his crowdfunding campaign "DeFranco Elite", I like the guy.
